OOC Intros

Welcome, new players and old players with new characters! This is the OOC Introduction post, made specially as a gathering place to meet and greet and get to know each other and our characters! Please take a moment to introduce yourself. You may do it any way you like or, if you're a fan of structure, please feel free to use this handy dandy copy-paste:

Other Characters? None, but I did play Lightning from FFXIII here for a little while, so I'm a returning player.
Tell us about yourself: I'm a 31 yo Canadian who loves coffee and my cat! I like playing video games (it's mostly FFXIV and Genshin atm), and my current faves are NieR: Automata and FFVIIR (surprise!). I dabble in 3D rendering too! I'm in the MST timezone, and my tagging speed varies. I try to respond back to tags within 1-2 days, but it can be more depending on RL stuff, especially work (which picks up significantly around the second week of every month). I do tend to slow down a lot on the weekends, so just a heads up there.

Character Name (Canon): Tifa Lockhart (Final Fantasy VII, Remake flavour)
Tell us about them: Tifa is what you could easily call the "Mom Friend". She's a kind, empathetic soul who is always wanting to help and do the right thing, but don't let that fool you, she can kick ass too! She's much more reserved than she leads on, doesn't like talking about herself, and she doesn't wear her heart on her sleeve, even if she may look it. Internally, Tifa deals with a lot of grief, low self-esteem, and harbours guilt for what Avalanche is doing, but she hides it well. She's always trying to do the Right Thing, and will try to help anyone in need, regardless of who they are or where they come from. Tifa comes in from the end of Remake Part 1, just as the group leaves Midgar to find Sephiroth, so she's been through quite a bit up until now! As for magic, she'll be coming in with Elemental/Light magic, with a cute, friendly spectral dolphin familiar. :)
Initial Ideas: This is definitely a cop-out answer, but getting her settled in and gaining some CR are my top priorities! I'd like for her to start taking on quests right away to start making some buck, so quest buddies would be A+. A very small part of her wonders if this is some direct result/consequence of what they did re: trying to change destiny, or that this could be some card up Sephiroth's sleeve so uh, someone please tell her it's not??? She'll need to come to terms with the fact that she's had her life upended (again), so that'll take some working on.

Character Name (Canon): 2B (NieR: Automata)
Tell us about them: 2B (AKA No. 2 Type B) comes from a world without humans. She is a battle android created to fight on the frontlines of the years-long machine war against—you guessed it!—the machine lifeforms that have taken over Earth, and the goal is to make it habitable again for the humans to return. She is Miss "Emotions are Prohibited" and doesn't shy away from that, convincing herself and others that emotions just get in the way of her duty as YoRHa android. In reality, 2B feels a lot more than she lets on. She comes off as distant and cold, but deep down, she is extremely loyal and cares deeply about her friends. She's tiptoed on the line between duty and her own desires for a long time, and the war is starting to take its toll on her... Even androids get tired. I decided to take 2B from the end of Route A/B, and she's got Kinetic/Siphoning magic, and a spectral moose for her familiar.
Initial Ideas: She's never met REAL HUMANS before, so she'll be a bit shy and taken-aback at first, and not sure what to do about it. On the inside, she's very excited to be surrounded by so many, and wants to befriend them all, but how does one do that? Honestly, my initial thoughts is to just have her make friends and learn about human customs and what they like to do in their free time, and maybe even start to mimic some of the behaviours (bonus points for weird stuff that we do that makes no sense!!) Other than that, she'll just be around, helping where she can. Also, someone please help her come up with a better name for her moose than 'Moose'.

Weirdest thing most people don't know about you that doesn't require content warnings: When I was a kid, I almost set my kitchen on fire with an eggo I forgot in the toaster. I walked away to go watch Sailor Moon and forgot about it. I think the toaster might've been broken??? At any rate, the house smelled like smoke for a few days after that. I'll never ever forgot that day... Don't know if that's a weird fact though???

AHH Mitsuru!! She was my fave in P3! 😍 But yes, I agree!! Tifa might take a while to open up about all of it though, but I think it'd be really nice to be able to talk about it with someone who Gets It when the time comes.

That said, I liked what the remake did with Tifa. I do have a Rufus account I started on, but there isn't enough Remake material for him yet so I obviously couldn't play him from that universe in a game. I do miss writing for him though.

I have Eclair and Cattleya, with brief descriptions on the bottom of this post. Eclair is both a mom friend and an android, so she'll get along with both girls. Cattleya is a fighter type, so she can bond with them in other ways!
