Hello everyone! As per the poll results, from here on out we will be posting an OOC intro at the start of our processing apps, with multiple reminders on plurk to check it out. In addition, as per suggestions commented to the pool, we will be linking this in Acceptance Messages and on the most recent Test Drive Meme.

OOC Intros

Welcome, new players and old players with new characters! This is the OOC Introduction post, made specially as a gathering place to meet and greet and get to know each other and our characters! Please take a moment to introduce yourself. You may do it any way you like or, if you're a fan of structure, please feel free to use this handy dandy copy-paste:

Player Name: Whatever you want us to call you.
Contact: Plurk, Discord, whatever it is you use. Don't forget to mention if it's OK for people to add you!
Pronouns: Whatever they are, please include them so everyone can be respectful of who you are.
Tell us about yourself: Hobbies, favorite times to tag, pets, quirks, favorite times/styles to tag, anything you'd like us to know.

Character Name & Journal: Character name and journal here!
Tell us about them: Give us a quick little introduction of your character, no more than a paragraph, to let us know a little about them. This will give people an idea of maybe how they can plot with their character and yours depending on potential interactions, but it also gives you a chance to gush about them to everyone. (We know you want to!)
Initial Ideas: We know you're just getting started off here so you may not have any solid goals for where you want to go yet, but let us know if there's anything you're looking for to start off with! Types of CR, parts of the setting you want to play with, magic you want to have your character have a disaster with, whatever floats your boat.
Favorite Food: This section is going to change for each OOC intro, we just want to put something fun each time. :) This time, put your character's favorite food!

Hello Avalon!

I'm Megan, and I bring you a brand spankin new Shiro from Voltron: Legendary Defender. He also has some CRAU from a former game, but none of the people here who were in that game came in with CRAU so he's going to be Disappointed In The World for a little bit. Please stop him from bottling everything up again.

6'4" and built a bit like Captain America, Shiro has a prominent scar across his nose, a scarf-sized lung dragon as a familiar, and is missing his right arm from the shoulder! He has access to elemental magics, starting out with metal manipulation.

If your character had CR with the last Shiro that was here, please feel free to come talk to me about it - we can work things out in a certain direction, or let things develop naturally, whatever you feel like. If there's already negative CR from before, let me know that too!

I have an Opt Out post for things in his backstory which have content warnings associated with them - let me know if you'd rather not deal with that. I can also minimize reference to visible injuries in my tags if you'd like, so don't be shy. The last thing I want to do is stomp on someone's triggers or squicks.

I really enjoy their interaction in the tavern on the TDM. They can be drinking buddies and they can certainly help each other not feeling bottled up from their collective Traumas. Since Xingchen will hang out in the tavern on most nights.

He certainly doesn't mind the low-key flirting either to help ease the pain. It can be friendship or if develop naturally and in time, can be something more. He'll be interested in the science of Shiro's world if he talks about it.

I'd love to keep that thread canon and have them develop their friendship. They hit it off nicely, and I suspect that they both need a Trauma Buddy. Shiro will be happy to talk science as well! He was a teacher at home, so hopefully he can manage not to horribly confuse Xingchen too much.

Xingchen will hang out in the tavern if he's good at making drinks. He'll be quite impressed at his science talk about the future and him being a teacher.

Ah, Xingchen's trauma is very sad. He sorta died a very tragic way, but he won't tell him or anybody because he doesn't want to distress anyone, but maybe he'll tell him someday.

He'll probably confused him, but he's welcome to hold his hands to lead him back home when he's tipsy. XD

Awwwwwwwwwww~ Poor guy... How does Xingchen react to gallows humor? Shiro covers for pain and/or trauma by making really bad jokes about it.

shiro plz, you're going to make him worried and he'll nudge and nag you to take care of it. I play Xingchen as a healer/nurse type, so he'll be happy for him to recover, but that takes time and lots of drinks for sure

Hi, Megan! I'm LWP, Avalon's new Makoto Kino/nerfed Sailor Jupiter, and also an Allura mun! Nice to meet you! Mako's also an elemental mage trying to remaster lightning and weirded out by being able to control everything else.

Hi LWP! Sailor Moon was one of my first and favorite animes, AND I think my very first manga ever, so I am exceptionally excited to meet a Mako player - and Allura is a fantastic second.

Shiro has some CRAU that means he's a little more used to being able to use magic, but this elemental stuff is absolutely not what he used in his last game. And finding out that metal counts as an element is great and all but what.

It is a pleasure to meet you, and I'm really looking forward to playing with you!

Oooh nice! Mako can definitely provide a training buddy... and making sure he and any other Voltrons that need it eat more than his cooking since they're sans Hunk at the moment.

Of course! She's used to cooking for like a rough dozen people back home and she has a house of five already here (thank you, Usagi and her friendliness), what's a few more?

I have to assume that the other paladins have found ways of not starving to death but Mako's cooking is amazing. Please expect a grateful Shiro to attempt to help her out in other ways.
