New Character OOC Intros

Hello everyone! As per the poll results, from here on out we will be posting an OOC intro at the start of our processing apps, with multiple reminders on plurk to check it out. In addition, as per suggestions commented to the pool, we will be linking this in Acceptance Messages and on the most recent Test Drive Meme.

Welcome, new players and old players with new characters! This is the OOC Introduction post, made specially as a gathering place to meet and greet and get to know each other and our characters! Please take a moment to introduce yourself. You may do it any way you like or, if you're a fan of structure, please feel free to use this handy dandy copy-paste:

Pronouns: Whatever they are, please include them so everyone can be respectful of who you are.
Tell us about yourself: Hobbies, favorite times to tag, pets, quirks, favorite times/styles to tag, anything you'd like us to know.

Tell us about them: Give us a quick little introduction of your character, no more than a paragraph, to let us know a little about them. Tell us about yourself: Hi, I’m brand new to the game and returning to RP after a cozy winter break. I usually play from old RPGs or obscure fantasy manga, and canon reviewing this boy in particular has been a delightful challenge. I've been a little under the weather the past couple of days, but I'm eager to get back to writing!

Character Name & Journal: Emil Castagnier (& Ratatosk)

Tell us about them: Emil is an unassuming boy from a fishing village. He’s very nice, a fairly good swordsman, and loves to cook for people. Whatever rumors you may have heard from the warfront, he's definitely not harboring a vengeful otherworldly spirit.
Initial Ideas: Making friends and going on adventures in general! I especially get a kick out of him interacting with other spirits, gods, and related folk. Also, anyone who wants a chef friend. Human food is amazing. Let’s make lots of it. <3 I’m having fun on the TDM and would be glad to roll over CR from there, too!
Favorite Food: Fried chicken! But he loves meat in general. He just combines it with weird things sometimes.

... okay Emil is my favorite Tales protag of all time and I used to RP him for years so you have no idea how excited I am to see someone else playing him. Anyway hello and welcome! I'm Luna, and can you tell I am a big Tales fan haha.

I am absolutely down for throwing Baldr here at him because he makes a great/encouraging big brother BUT given the nature of Rays I don't want to overstep any boundaries with what Baldr knows about Emil and Aster and Richter! (Alternatively, if you want to play around with that, I'm down for that too.) So I guess my first question would be what canon point is Emil from?

Hello! Quite understandable since he's a lot of fun to play!

I love Rays (we fans have been so spoiled), but it doesn’t run well on my system, so most of what I know is by videos and osmosis. I’ve watched Emil's major scenes to know the basics: his fighting at the coliseum, friendship with Mithos, meeting Aster, etc. And Ratatosk is familiar enough with time travel and alternate universes that he won't have a problem being recognized. I would prefer to develop casual CR first before broaching anything heavy/sensitive, but just a 'hey, I know you' to start is fine!

His canon point info is on his journal, but to be precise, he's from after the door closes but before Richter convinces him to return to the surface. So that sweet spot between the Normal Ending and Good Ending.

I think that covers the basics, but let me know if you have specific questions? I'm not very familiar with Baldr, so you may need to fill me in on his interactions with Rays!Emil so far.

Oh, perfect! Baldr doesn't really know Emil as far as I can remember (although he may have spoken to him once or twice when he was helping Mileena and company out while in Flynn's body), but Aster and Richter are currently working with his group, so my primary concern was more about whether I needed to have him keep quiet about Aster. He's already well aware that the ones he's met are exoflections rather than the originals and so the originals won't know him anyway, but. He wouldn't say too much just for that reason unless he got the go-ahead. So that definitely works!

I apologize in advance for this very old, very awkward man. Except not really. I am down for keeping their TDM thread canon if you are!

But yeah, the TDM thread has been a great (if awkwardly hilarious) basis for them meeting! I'll get back to tagging it soon.

Emil! Welcome, Worlds! I'm Caprica and I just have this here most clumsiest Chosen. She isn't actually. Going to recognize him because earlier canon point but still! I am excited for more Tales gang, esp Symphonia which is my nostalgic favourite! I haven't played Dawn of the New World since I grabbed it on the Wii forever ago but I do have it on Steam iirc (or at least the first on there?) and I've got the PS3 Collector's Edition as well which came with both. So I can play it again this time on a more modern console now at least. (I think the Wii part was what threw me off more with this one. Got through it but it played so differently. Still enjoyed it, just preferred the story and such of the first game more.)

Anyway, Colette is Colette and will def make friends with him again regardless of remembering him (look she bff with Sheena she gonna bff everyone if she can manage it with her ninja assassin sent to kill her.) and she will be Oblivious to Ratatosk this is fine. Though she will miss Paw Pads if she remembered Tenebrae.

Hi! Colette is adorable and I was happy to see her here! Emil is getting used to 'everyone is from different times than me', so that's fine! I don't think he'll say much about it either way, but he'll be glad to meet and befriend her once again (and Ratatosk is okay with Emil doing most of the socializing; makes life easier on him.)

I am curious as to what canon point Colette is from; it looks like Final Seal/Tower of Salvation from your journal info?

It's okay if Emil keeps quieter on things later on. But yes she is from an earlier canon point with the Final Seal. Eventually I might update her more but I tend to prefer earlier canon point usually in having still some growth/development and such to work through for the character. (and easier canon review. That too. Yes.) I wasn't necessarily expecting that to matter, given Symphonia is an older Tales but there's you with Emil and she got Kratos this app round so who knows.

That's a pretty cool idea for her, especially since she got her humanity back immediately at Avalon. It will throw Emil for a loop at first that she's younger, but he'll probably want to look after her especially as Lloyd isn't here.

I've been surprised at the number of Symphonia muses I've seen the past year! I didn't think I'd have the chance to play in a cast, so I'm looking forward to it!

Yeah initially she is mostly ????!!! at being able to talk and such again on top of dealing with suddenly being in a new place and everything. She's def already had some being all '.....suspicious' about her talk of the Journey and what it means for her as it is too.

Aw, really? It's been a while for me haha I last had Colette over at Eachdraidh so it's been a few years since I had her out and about for the most part. But that's awesome!

I'm Ashka and I play Aether from Genshin Impact but I'm also a huge Tales of fan (I played Ruca Milda from Tales of Innocence for years haha) so I'm always super happy to see someone playing from one of the games!

I'm vacationing from Plurk for the moment, but I looked at your Open RP post and OMG I thought I was the only one with a Narikiri Dungeon muse. ;-; (I'm working through the novels to pick up Mel.) That's a great selection of Tales characters; I may take you up on the offer sometime in the future, once Emil is settled here of course!

Also yes! I loved the game! I'm probably a little rusty with Rodi though, but I will always be up to trying her against another narikiri character!
