Hello everyone! As per the poll results, from here on out we will be posting an OOC intro at the start of our processing apps, with multiple reminders on plurk to check it out. In addition, as per suggestions commented to the pool, we will be linking this in Acceptance Messages and on the most recent Test Drive Meme.

OOC Intros

Welcome, new players and old players with new characters! This is the OOC Introduction post, made specially as a gathering place to meet and greet and get to know each other and our characters! Please take a moment to introduce yourself. You may do it any way you like or, if you're a fan of structure, please feel free to use this handy dandy copy-paste:

Player Name: Whatever you want us to call you.
Contact: Plurk, Discord, whatever it is you use. Don't forget to mention if it's OK for people to add you!
Pronouns: Whatever they are, please include them so everyone can be respectful of who you are.
Tell us about yourself: Hobbies, favorite times to tag, pets, quirks, favorite times/styles to tag, anything you'd like us to know.

Character Name & Journal: Character name and journal here!
Tell us about them: Give us a quick little introduction of your character, no more than a paragraph, to let us know a little about them. This will give people an idea of maybe how they can plot with their character and yours depending on potential interactions, but it also gives you a chance to gush about them to everyone. (We know you want to!)
Initial Ideas: We know you're just getting started off here so you may not have any solid goals for where you want to go yet, but let us know if there's anything you're looking for to start off with! Types of CR, parts of the setting you want to play with, magic you want to have your character have a disaster with, whatever floats your boat.
Favorite Food: This section is going to change for each OOC intro, we just want to put something fun each time. :) This time, put your character's favorite food!
Anything else: Permissions, opt-outs, shitposting, etc.

And who knows, Gaius may have enough chill to deal with Hawk's aggression. Though I am going to try to have one prompt in my intro catch all that can get him not being a total ass. Also, if you don't mind me asking, how far in Cold Steel have you gotten? Since Gaius is from early canon I want to make sure I don't accidentally spoil something for you OOCly by making assumptions.

I finished the first game. That's where I am. I realize I have a lot to go.

No worries, that's why I asked! I'm not one of those people who thinks you must have played it all before RPing from it. I still think it's awesome for someone to play Gaius because he sadly gets little love from the fandom.

Really? I think he's great! Not every character NEEDS an angsty backstory. Sometimes you just come from a loving home and have good perspective on things.

Exactly, but it does sadly result in him being shuffled to the background a bit while they focus on the angsty stuff. But at the same time, he's got a solid moveset and is just as good of an evasion tank as Fie is, in some ways better because he hits harder and seems to crit and unbalance more often. And then story wise he's a pillar of support that they can be rely on to be their big bro and remain calm no matter how much shit hits the fan.

Also, I will always appreciate Gaius after my nightmare run in CS3. In later games you'll have battles with multiple phases that use most of your characters. I was getting my ass handed to me and everyone but Gaius went down. Gaius just kept on trucking along dodging the boss and going all "can't touch this" while countering the boss. I hadn't even built him specifically as an evasion tank, it just happened and he outlasted Fie. My CS4 nightmare run had him and Elliot in my party because they are great and sorely underappreciated.
