Hello everyone! As per the poll results, from here on out we will be posting an OOC intro at the start of our processing apps, with multiple reminders on plurk to check it out. In addition, as per suggestions commented to the pool, we will be linking this in Acceptance Messages and on the most recent Test Drive Meme.

OOC Intros


Welcome, new players and old players with new characters! This is the OOC Introduction post, made specially as a gathering place to meet and greet and get to know each other and our characters! Please take a moment to introduce yourself. You may do it any way you like or, if you're a fan of structure, please feel free to use this handy dandy copy-paste:

Tell us about yourself: I have a degree in literature, I am a classically trained violinist, an avid reader (as if the degree didn't give it away), a sufferer of autoimmune arthritis and an animal lover.

Character Name & Journal: Nigihayami Kohakunushi (Kohaku/Haku for short) and his journal is this one!
Tell us about them: He is a dragon spirit from the movie Spirited Away! If you haven't seen the movie, I suggest you do so right now. It's a beautiful example of art and creativity. Haku isn't the main character, but he's such a darling (despite being a ferocious dragon) that I don't know how anyone could resist him. At present, he looks to be about 12 - physically, at least. I have a feeling he is much older (though likely still young by spirit standards).
Initial Ideas: This boy needs friends. He can be a bit standoffish at first with some - maybe even downright arrogant - but he has a heart of gold and he truly cares about the safety of others. I would also like for him to work on his animal magic so that he can transform back into his true self eventually. (His true self being a dragon. The same as his familiar!)
Favorite Food: Rice-balls maybe? I don't think the movie ever says, but he does make some bomb rice-balls for Chihiro.
Anything else: Enjoy Ghibli soundtracks!

Hakuuuuu! I was so excited to see him reserved! Spirited Away was my first Ghibli so I will always have it as a nostalgic fave even if I think overall Ponyo prob wins as just. The cutest movie ever (not just counting Ghibli but in general) for me anyway. I love Spirited Away though so very excited to see him and possibly get cr!

Which is. Yeah. Hi. Welcome! I'm Caprica and I only came in last round myself with Colette Brunel here of Tales of Symphonia. Basically she is a young girl that is the clumsiest ever and the most ditzy, oblivious, trusting person that was also raised as a sacrifice, basically, expected as her duty as the Chosen to go on a Journey to save her world to give up her humanity to become an Angel and replenish Sylvarant's Mana supply. In a nutshell, since idk how familiar you are.

Gods I need to watch Spirited Away again. It has been far too long.

(Also I have a forest girl with animal magic that could be a friend for him potentially? Her brother saved the life of the last Dragon in their homelands and kind of got adopted by her. So she's gotten used to dragons even though she grew up being afraid - ins os much as Rhia ever knows fear - of Wings Of Fire, the Dragon father to the last remaining baby.)

ahh, haku! spirited away is one of my favorite ghibli movies. dorothea is someone who was orphaned at a young age and is known to look after other orphaned kids, so she might get the urge to try and nurture haku if she saw him as a lost boy, even though that would probably drive him a little crazy

This is kind of late, but I really love the thread with Haku and Robyn so far! Like many others, I'm already a big fan of Spirited Away. Robyn herself is from Wolfwalkers, a movie from a studio that takes a lot of inspiration from Studio Ghibli's works (though Cartoon Saloon draws more from Irish folklore).
