Considerations
Here are a few things that we were thinking about as potential positives/negatives of each poll result and would like you to consider when making your choice:
- 1. Delaying the timing between plotting post and log could potentially result in loss of enthusiasm/motivation by some players from plotting to threading. The current timing was voted on previously by players and not determined by moderators, so we are fine with adjusting if that's what y'all want!
2-A. New players will have little to no adjustment period before the event and mods will have no reprieve between apps and event time, may eliminate time for non-event introductions that some players like to do. Timing would improve availability of threads for the current AC month for players who have not yet completed it.
2-B. Less time to get AC-length threads for current month. However, threads will qualify for the following month's AC per current AC rules (which we will not be changing). Provides adjustment period and break for mods between AC and event post.
2-C. The event outcomes would not be determined which could make it harder to plot, but threads would be able to be started without as long of a wait time after plotting. Could result in threads needing to be retconned if players feel their characters actions do not make sense sense leading up to outcomes. However, would maintain current timing. Aftermath would be separated from plotting, which could necessitate the creation of additional logs/threads for players who do not prefer catch-all posts.
3. Some players feel there is too much going on in each event and that makes it difficult to decide what to do. We will not be eliminating the minimum of two prompt sets for each event, as we think it is very important to provide both mundane/non-combatant prompts and action/adventure prompts to accommodate different types of characters, as we have a diverse cast in Avalon.
However, we may remove different options for prompts, like added setting interactivity that doesn't relate to the task at hand. (Ex: bubble bar option for Lestari's flight prompt to gather fairy coins, the floral preservation prompt, other seasonal/flavor prompts)
We would like to point out that we do not set goals for how many prompts are there currently and tend to just write what feels right/sounds fun that works along the current story path we are on, so this would actually create more work for mods to determine the best prompts to eliminate from drafts in revision.
Before I end this post, a quick reminder to complete your activity check as there is less than a week left to turn it in!
