Welcome, new players and old players with new characters! This is the OOC Introduction post, made specially as a gathering place to meet and greet and get to know each other and our characters! Please take a moment to introduce yourself. You may do it any way you like or, if you're a fan of structure, please feel free to use this handy dandy copy-paste:

This will give people an idea of maybe how they can plot with their character and yours depending on potential interactions, but it also gives you a chance to gush about them to everyone. Initial Ideas: We know you're just getting started off here so you may not have any solid goals for where you want to go yet, but let us know if there's anything you're looking for to start off with! Types of CR, parts of the setting you want to play with, magic you want to have your character have a disaster with, whatever floats your boat.

Tell us about yourself:
I'm your run of the mill anime/book/drama/manga/video game fan in most cases. I don't watch as much anime/dramas or play as many video games as I once did but I do still love my books / manga and will read whatever you put in front of me. My favorite authors include Harlan Ellison, Richard Matheson and Stephen King.
Video game wise I'm that person they make walking simulators for, lol. Some of my favorites have been To the Moon / Finding Paradise, Stardew Valley and What Remains of Edith Finch. I got a Switch during 2020 (and yes, I devoted myself to Animal Crossing) and I'm keen on trying some of the otome games that have cropped up on the system lately. So if you've got recommendations there, feel free!
My timezone is EST (GMT - 5) and I generally try to do at least one round of tags a day.

Character Name (Canon): Machi Kuragi (Fruits Basket)

Tell us about them:
Machi Kuragi gains herself something of a reputation at Kaibara High among the others in her year for being stuck-up and strange, looking down her nose at others and generally being hard to connect with or like. She keeps to herself much of the time and doesn't speak a whole lot either. This begins to change as Machi watches one Yuki Sohma shed the fake smiles and pervasive loneliness she had always seen in him. He changed and in doing so Machi hope she could change too.

In truth Machi is a very caring girl, doing things for others without being asked and noticing things about others that some people might not see. She's very good at picking out people's hidden emotions because she knows what it's like to stuff your emotions down to the point where you end up "a blank void". She has a bit of a stubborn personality as well, has a hard time with embarrassment over talking about her own feelings and has a pretty hefty "tsundere" streak to her too.

Initial Ideas:
I'm going pretty open and flexible here for now with no specific hard ideas in mind. I thought Machi might have a good time coming into her own and showing her real personality without the even distant pressure of her parents being a thing. In Avalon she is much more free to explore herself, discover her likes and dislikes and figure out her favorites.

What foreign country do you want to visit that you haven't been to yet? Ireland. Like a lot of Americans a ton of my ancestors come from Ireland and Scotland and I've just always wanted to visit it.

Hey, there! I'm super excited to see Machi here! Sorry for the delayed tags on the TDM, I plan to try to clear out all my tags for Tohru tomorrow...

My name is Jude, and I have this soft girl here and Asriel from Undertale! I'm really looking forward to seeing how Machi and Tohru end up interacting with one another in this setting.

Also, To The Moon is an amazing game. You have great taste.

But aaah Machi is a good! I'm excited to see her here! I'm waiting on hearing back on my app for Kyo but. I'm Caprica, and I also do already have this oblivious, naive and optimistic klutz of an Angel, Colette Brunel from Tales of Symponia as well. Who is a teenager that's been raised knowing she is expected to sacrifice herself for everyone else/the World, basically. Which has had No Consequences whatsoever on her self-esteem etc.

I stand by my reasoning that she calls him an airhead because he gifted her a friggin' leaf.

And then she made it into a bookmark and cherished it so whose the real weirdo here???

But aw, someone else familiar! Tales of is more niche in regards to JRPGs and all so it's always nice to meet another fan.

Ah, it's been forever since I read Furuba and still need to watch the new anime (i was waiting for it to be finished but now I have to wait to August, ooops...) but I remember liking Machi a lot!

Hello!! We already kinda met at a plurk a while ago but again, I'm Nea and I play Usagi Tsukino from Sailor Moon, Anna from Frozen, Rin Tohsaka from Fate/Stay Night, Katara from Avatar: The Last Airbender and Mikasa from Attack On Titan here.

Welcome welcome, so happy to see her and I hope you'll have lots of fun here and enjoy the game! Can't wait to throw someone at Machi sooner or later.

I admit, I wasn't big on the manga back in the day and didn't read it all. I don't think I appreciated it half as much back then as I do now that I'm older and have gone through loss and grief on a personal level. The anime really hit me hard in a lot of ways and I probably lost a whole lot of hydration through tears, lol.
