Welcome, new players and old players with new characters! This is the OOC Introduction post, made specially as a gathering place to meet and greet and get to know each other and our characters! Please take a moment to introduce yourself. You may do it any way you like or, if you're a fan of structure, please feel free to use this handy dandy copy-paste:

Tell us about yourself: I'm a mobage fiend, unfortunately. I mostly play from joseimuke like Enstars, A3!, and Mahoyaku, but I also play RPGs like GBF, FGO and Genshin (though I had to uninstall that one bc it's starting to lag on my potato PC, rip)! I also watch a bunch of anime - not so on the manga front, even tho Chainsaw Man is a recent exemption, lol. My timezone is GMT+8 so if you got a tag from a weirdass hour, don't worry about it.

Tell us about them: God, where do I even start with this asshole. Itaru back home is just your charming, mild-mannered salaryman on the outside, but it's only to hide the fact that he is a shitty gamer addict nerd underneath. He's also an actor like Taichi and co.! He literally just came from performing a stageplay adaptation of his favorite videogame franchise of all time that's very Arthurian-themed, so he'd feel right at home here. Maybe a little too much, because he's always wanted to be isekai'd real bad............
Initial Ideas: I WAS THINKING OF MAKING ITARU INTO A KNIGHT SO THAT HE'LL COME CLOSE TO BECOMING LANCELOT FOR REAL. why did i write that in allcaps. anyway yeah i think he'll dig taking this route until he realizes that he has to go out there and do missions IRL instead of just speedrunning that shit in a videogame console. it's gonna suck. otherwise I'm gonna have him acclimate to the setting, reach out for some cr and get in touch with other people at Mankai, and do some magic training!! he's got elemental magic and technomancy and he Will know how to use them. later on i might have him reestablish his videogame streamer cred on here but we shall see.
What foreign country do you want to visit that you haven't been to yet? I've only gone to one country and it was Malaysia ;_; beautiful place. I'd love to go to Singapore one day since we almost had a chance to?? And of course Japan and South Korea.

Tell us about them: A sharp-tongued seamster who only really got that way because of the bullying he endured growing up, Yuki's a young man who likes cute things and likes wearing cute things. 99% of the time he's going to be in a dress because girls' clothing is way more adorable than anything a boy has to wear, so feel free to mistake him for a girl. He's the Mankai Company's resident costume designer — he makes all of his own clothing and every costume for shows to boot, and that was originally his whole gig until he got quickly drafted into being in a troupe... Yuki usually means well and doesn't mean to be mean just for the sake of... being mean, he just says whatever comes to mind, especially for nicknames. Look forward to your customized Yuki nickname today.
Initial Ideas: Someone give me an excuse to use his bargaining magic, I'm begging you. Otherwise, I don't think I have too much; I'm here to ~vibe~ and just get settled in, especially since this is actually my first time playing him in a game.

Tell us about yourself: Hey everyone! I'm Melodie and introes are my weakness, so er, where to start? I love video games, especially J-RPGs and above all the Zelda series. I'd say after that comes Final Fantasy and the Xeno (blade/saga) series. I've come back to the DWRP world earlier this year and ever since then I've been having a blast, I hope this'll continue over here in Avalon! Character Name (Canon): Monika (Doki Doki Literature Club)
Tell us about them: A very normal high school girl. Well, she has more issues than your average person does at this age. She puts on a facade of confidence, but she's very anxious. She struggles with perfectionism and lack of actual confidence, and her facade crumbles quickly when under pressure. She loves literature, she's very sweet and got big dreams of romance! ... Oh, and she's a sentient video game character / AI who turned sociopathic and killed her own friends to try and escape to the real world. She's better now and really wants to become a good person! But all of that has kind of left her... Traumatized. Essentially, in spite of looking and sounding like a 18-years old, she is a lot more mature due to her experience and has a very unique insight on life and existence.

Initial Ideas: Well, this setting is nice and all, but er... Avalon? Magic? Technology in King Arthur's Camelot? Sounds like some kind of weird video game, wouldn't you say? And guess who's gonna be paranoid that none of this is real? Ideally I'd like for her to get over this fear rather quickly so that she may actually enjoy being there rather than constantly question the reality of, well, everything! I'd also like for her to make friends. She needs people she can rely on because sooner or later, all of that trauma she's carrying with her is gonna explode.

Also I've been playing a bit with it in the TDM, but Monika may try to take a magical girl approach to magic. She loves cute things and would be very tempted to try and put on a cute act when using her powers. So far the best she's done is using her pen as her "magical staff," and she's got lots of ideas of one-liners or costumes that'd be really fun. That said, she's very self-conscious and thinks this may be a tad too silly... So encouragement would totally help her.
What foreign country do you want to visit that you haven't been to yet? Finland! To be specific, the Village of Santa Claus! Oh yes, did I mention I'm a Christmas freak?

Tell us about yourself: Hard into Fate, Yugioh, and evidently My Hero Academia now. I'm typically always available to tag unless I'm sleeping or something else has me occupied. I'm in the Central Time Zone.

Character Name (Canon): Eri (she doesn't have a known last name)
Tell us about them: Eri is a cheerful but timid girl, or at least, she is now. Eri has gone through more pain and suffering than what anyone deserves at the mere age of six, and is only cheerful now after some well-deserved emotional and mental healing. When Eri’s quirk “Rewind” manifested when she was a toddler, she accidentally caused her father to disappear, being rewound to before he even existed. Because of this, her mother became fearful of her, disowning her and calling her a cursed child before handing her off to Eri’s grandfather, the boss of an organized crime group known as the Shie Hassaikai.

She was then handed off to her grandfather's foster son, Kai Chisaki, because it was assumed that her quirk was similar to his. Long story short, it wasn't, Chisaki discovered this... and saw an opportunity. Eri's been through much more pain at the hands of Chisaki than anyone should ever go through at the mere age of six. Abuse (both mental and physical) can be seen clearly on her occasionally... but she's healed a lot since then. She's been saved, and she's able to smile again.
Initial Ideas: I AM LOOKING AT ALL OF YOU CASTMATES. Eri needs supervision and that's probably getting dropped on yall because leaving her with other UA students sounds much better than leaving her with someone else, no matter how kind they are.
What foreign country do you want to visit that you haven't been to yet? I've gone to... a lot of countries. This is actually a pretty hard question in that sense, because all of the countries I wanna be to... I've already been to. I'll just say Japan.

Tell us about yourself:
I'm your run of the mill anime/book/drama/manga/video game fan in most cases. I don't watch as much anime/dramas or play as many video games as I once did but I do still love my books / manga and will read whatever you put in front of me. My favorite authors include Harlan Ellison, Richard Matheson and Stephen King.
Video game wise I'm that person they make walking simulators for, lol. Some of my favorites have been To the Moon / Finding Paradise, Stardew Valley and What Remains of Edith Finch. I got a Switch during 2020 (and yes, I devoted myself to Animal Crossing) and I'm keen on trying some of the otome games that have cropped up on the system lately. So if you've got recommendations there, feel free!
My timezone is EST (GMT - 5) and I generally try to do at least one round of tags a day.

Character Name (Canon): Machi Kuragi (Fruits Basket)

Tell us about them:
Machi Kuragi gains herself something of a reputation at Kaibara High among the others in her year for being stuck-up and strange, looking down her nose at others and generally being hard to connect with or like. She keeps to herself much of the time and doesn't speak a whole lot either. This begins to change as Machi watches one Yuki Sohma shed the fake smiles and pervasive loneliness she had always seen in him. He changed and in doing so Machi hope she could change too.

In truth Machi is a very caring girl, doing things for others without being asked and noticing things about others that some people might not see. She's very good at picking out people's hidden emotions because she knows what it's like to stuff your emotions down to the point where you end up "a blank void". She has a bit of a stubborn personality as well, has a hard time with embarrassment over talking about her own feelings and has a pretty hefty "tsundere" streak to her too.

Initial Ideas:
I'm going pretty open and flexible here for now with no specific hard ideas in mind. I thought Machi might have a good time coming into her own and showing her real personality without the even distant pressure of her parents being a thing. In Avalon she is much more free to explore herself, discover her likes and dislikes and figure out her favorites.

What foreign country do you want to visit that you haven't been to yet? Ireland. Like a lot of Americans a ton of my ancestors come from Ireland and Scotland and I've just always wanted to visit it.

Tell us about them: A responsible adult...

... but okay, the long version is Dr. Naomi Kimishima is a surgeon/medical examiner that's typically cool and collected with her bits of dark humor and snark. She kind of have her life screwed over because she realized she had actual healing powers that she could activate with concentration (and later use it to improve her reflexes) because people were paranoid, but you know, she was saving people's lives. She then proceeded to screw the world over for a few years because ~terrorism~, but these recent years, she'll give people a chance again. Just ignore the fact dead people call her with their last words and she can be that mom friend (since she does have a daughter).

Initial Ideas: Settling into the local clinic/hospital and working there. She doesn't even need to be with the living patients, but gosh, her office will be a little crowded even with dead people, huh? New friends, be prepared to be her first healing subjects.

What foreign country do you want to visit that you haven't been to yet? Japan at some point would be fun.

Tell us about yourself: I'm glued to my Nintendo Switch. I can't get away from it. Help me. I'm European, which means that I'm usually tagging when everyone else is asleep at work.

Character Name (Canon): Minako Aino aka Sailor Venus (except not-so-Sailor-Venus in this game) from Sailor Moon!
Tell us about them: Minako is living life to the fullest. Near-professional volleybal player, upcoming (in her dreams...) idol, having had romances with at least fifteen different boys, self-proclaimed goddess of love and beauty, absolutely never sitting still. Comes across as a huge ditz, but at least a super enthusiastic one. In all reality though she gave up absolutely every single one of her dreams when she found out when she was only 13 that she was actually a soldier. But trauma is something we shove down and away in this house, which means to most people Minako won't seem like anything more than a way too excitable teenage girl.
Initial Ideas: I have to admit I don't have a whole lot of ideas just yet - I'm the type who doesn't pre-plan much and just kind of sees where I end up. I'm mostly going to focus on settling Minako in and letting her get used to the setting and not having her powers anymore, which is going to be very weird to her. She's going to be a total duck out of water who will be pretending very hard to actually be very much in the water. She's very social, so I'm up for literally every form of CR, come at me! Anyone particularly perceptive may be able to notice she's not always coping as well as she pretends to be, but she's very good at hiding it at this point. She's part of the pretending Olympics.

Tell us about yourself: I'm Alexandria, though I go by Mesi since going by Alex confuses a lot of people. I am an avid reader and lover of fantasy, manga, movies, music, webtoon, and about anything and everything that lends itself to finding yourself in a different world. I am still relatively new to DWRP, but played many years ago on LJ. If you tag around on Bakerstreet I post there a lot with Vaggie from Hazbin Hotel and a few others like Abigail from Great Pretender. Or if you were a part of Deerington, I joined it last fall with Makoto Kino and Winter Schnee. Tell us about them: Haruka Tenou is a strong individual who shows confidence in what she does. While never officially stated to be of particular influence, Haruka often presents herself as male most of the time but appears feminine at others. Often she makes a point of not correcting the assumptions that others make about her being male and doesn't see why her gender matters. She has something of a competitive streak, a desire to go fast, and is a bit of a flirt with pretty girls; even if she is already spoken for by Michiru. Haruka is also a loving and caring papa to Hotaru, and fierce ally to the other Sailor Senshi. Accustomed to fame and money from a successful racing career, she can seem a little overconfident at times but doesn't really come off as cocky. Also, she has a strong dislike of popular guys and enjoys putting people in place if they have a big ego.
Initial Ideas: Haruka is going to form a bond with a Sylph, a wind elemental, for her familiar. From there I plan to have work towards getting the lay of the land and striving to become a knight like in the stories she'd tell Hotaru. As she learns more technomancy maybe try to work on building something that moves fast.
What foreign country do you want to visit that you haven't been to yet? That I haven't been to? I would probably have to say Portugal or Spain. Though Germany is on my list now too since my brother moved there.

Haha... Okay, so. Maya's your garden variety band nerd with cello prodigy creds and dreams of being a pop star.

Now, ignore all of that because any plot revolving around Maya's desires and future get crushed under the heel of trauma and depression because she's severely traumatized by multiple people dying and a hero complex rivaling most Batman sidekicks. She basically believes that every bad thing that happens is her's to stop and if she can't (reminder, she's seventeen, and she's been like this since fourteen) then it is her personal failing and 100% her responsibility.

No, no this is not okay. But this is Maya.

Initial Ideas:

So initially Maya is going to need friends, but more importantly people to save this dumbass as she tries to single handedly restart time on her own and die trying. She's going to quickly work on her healing magic to make herself useful and then yeet herself into fucking danger like a moron.

Other than that, probably therapy and/or people she can crush on then avoid admitting feelings because everyone she loves will surely die.

Stolen from my own EMP post: "A silent protagonist with a huge appetite and an insatiable curiosity, Link is an incredibly savvy fighter as well as an impulsive gremlin". I think I can add that he's kind and compassionate, willing to go the distance to save an entire land despite how dangerous and unforgiving it can be. He's capable of trusting complete strangers and wants to believe in the good in all things--- however, given his familiarity with the corrupting nature of something that will do whatever it wants? Link isn't completely dumb!

He can, however, be pretty dumb.

Initial Ideas: Knighthood seems like the most obvious thing that he'd work for, because... well, he basically wanted to be one at the start? Being hand picked by the Princess to be her personal guard sort of ruined that opportunity, so I think Link would be more than happy to have another go at it--- this time for Avalon.

Character Name (Canon): Beowulf! (Fate/Grand Order)
Tell us about them: He is Ripper… Tearer… Slasher… Gouger. He is the Teeth in the Darkness, the Talons in the Night. His is Strength… and Lust… and Power! He. Is. Beowulf! For those of you that don't know anything about his legend here's an Overly Sarcastic Production. Basically he's a guy that beats the ever loving crap out of dozens of monsters and ends up becoming a (reluctant) king. Anyway, he eventually dies, and is so badass he goes to this nifty place called the Throne of Heroes and can be summoned by some uppity mage, or kid that likes to proclaim that people die when they're killed. He looks super scary when you first meet him, but is pretty chill overall. "Bare-Knuckle-Type Servant-- He does have a weapon, but at the end of the day it's faster to just punch someone's face in, so he always tosses his sword away. Don't worry, EMIYA will recycle it. How ecological."
Initial Ideas: Nothing quite yet, he's probably going to get the lay of the land first. See what his canonmates are up to and probably look to get a meeting with Arthur as like a good will sort of thing between one monarch and a former one.
What foreign country do you want to visit that you haven't been to yet? The only other country I've been to was Canada (which really isn't all that different from the U.S sue me). I wouldn't mind going to Europe or somewhere in Asia to study though as a way to get a fresh perspective~.

Character Name (Canon): Itou Souma (OC)
Tell us about them: You know in a lot of manga or games there is one relationship choice who is the silent shy lineface? I once heard someone say that you can't RP a character like that and make them interesting, so Souma is what came out of me challenging myself to do it. Souma is a stealth warrior and farmer from a hidden village of shadow yokai called Itou who live high in the mountains of his country, Kigu. His people live cut off from the rest of the world, and they are pre-industrial revolution. He sees everyone who isn't Itou as an Outsider, but he is curious about Outsider ways. He spent the last several years working as a gentleman's valet and bodyguard and has training in courtly manners, but outside of that servant role he gets confused about what to do. His self-esteem is horrible because of *le tragic backstory*. Souma is painfully shy and has a speech problem, so you will see him stutter or get stuck at times. His familiar Kokuryuu is the opposite and a frisky, self-indulgent, nosy snek. Souma loves to sneak around and do nice things for nice people. He cooks, raises animals, and he makes things with herbs that smell good. His favorite things to do for fun are tea, fishing, and stargazing on the roof with a good drink. He has just arrived with his crush Lee Jongdae and his kitten Nozomi.

Initial Ideas: Souma has until recently been living under a very strict set of caste rules that defined everything that he could/couldn't do. He will be trying to find out more about who he really is and what it means to "be yourself." He wants to know who he is. He is carefully allowing himself to try to have fun. He is wondering about wearing pretty things. He wants to know all about your culture! He wants to fight to prove his manhood! Please do any of those things with him!
What foreign country do you want to visit that you haven't been to yet? I really want to go to Paris, France. Watching Lupin on Netflix made this worse. Gotta save $.

Tell us about them: Kyo is the Cat of the Sohma family. Meaning he transforms, in canon, into a cat when hugged by the opposite sex. And also has another more creepy/horrifying True Form because Cats are Suffering in this zodiac curse. He carries a lot of guilt regarding the past and is rather prickly initially and rather unpracticed socially at the start of the series but over time improves and mellows out in not getting as angry/ready to Fight at the drop of a hat thanks to meeting/reuniting with Tohru Honda and her amazing sweet influence and love. He's there to be a dumbass (he thinks....Jason from the movies is....a bear....he's an idiot.) but a loveable one in that he really does Try. And improves in general even if he is forever the Weakest and Softest towards Tohru in particular.

He has Animal and Blood Magic so that's gonna be Fun when he figures that out. His familiar is a Bakeneko as well. Canon point wise he is from the summer beach arc, basically after heading off from seeing Akito and realizing he Has Feelings Oh No?
Initial Ideas: Prob in general settling in/adjusting. Maaaaybe starting school? Figuring his new magic and all. Which will have him very ???!!! when he. Does not transform when hugged? What? He'll prob be pretty awful in learning to use the phone beyond the obvious of using it to call or text too. He's not so much one for technology. Will probably flip over the blood magic.

Tell us about them: He's a half-Japanese sport anime boy who recently moved from Canada to Japan. He's big ol' dumbass with exactly 2 braincells, and 1 is for skateboarding, and one is for Reki. He is a former snowboarder who lost his love for it after his dad died because his dad brought joy to the sport. Then he met Reki and got introduced to Skateboarding, who made it fun for him then. He's extremely reckless and tends to do dangerous and risky tricks. He gets a high out of doing stupid things, which is part of why he has healing magic now. Boy needs it bad. He's fairly blunt, straightforward, and almost earnest in how he approaches things. He has no real social decorum, and is mostly expressive around people he genuinely really likes.
Initial Ideas: Langa will do things in this order:

Tell us about yourself: I write code and god I’ve been here before a few times lmao but here I am again because I have acquired the Fate/ brainrot something fierce and I love (1) man. Which… is a complete lie because I love MANY MEN AND WAIFUS but I love one (1) man just THE MOST rn and I’ll just be here coping until they maybe let a guy come home so I can give him grails. Tell us about them: Izō is a Servant so those of you already acquainted with Fate will know what that’s all about. For those of you that don’t uhhh… he used to be alive then he died now he’s a Heroic Spirit summoned by mages to fight. Which used to grant him a spirit form which was a great perk because you ever just want to not be perceived? Anyway, his class is Assassin Man-Slayer! He likes to keep things uncomplicated and only think about his job — his job of killing — and not much else unless it’s booze or gambling. He’s a simple guy! He’s also a genius of the sword and proud to the point of arrogant about his own skills (which he can back up!). He will, however, go absolutely feral if he gets mocked or laughed at (or thinks that’s what’s happening). Also: nothing’s ever uncomplicated! HE WISHES. Additionally, despite his murderous ways and shitty attitude he’s got a warm, nougat-y centre in there. Oh and a lot of unresolved issues and trauma but lmao who doesn’t? He just would prefer no one notices any of this and so his entire strategy is "no talk me i'm angy" with varying results.

I do have a permissions / opt-out post here because he’s got an abrasive personality and talks very casually about violence and murder, so please use this freely if you want to opt-out of anything! I will content warn for anything above and beyond his “usual” sort of mentions though, so no worries there!

Initial Ideas: Izō has no plans to do any of this world saving nonsense and does not invite anyone to change his mind (but as usual OOCly I encourage people to bother my characters a lot). He’s mostly hanging around trying to enjoy himself. Only he’s broke as hell so he’s probably going to have to make some coin some way! Possibly more yelling at birds. Man struggles with magic.

Also: I welcome cr with castmates and non-castmates alike! He’s totally going to be giving some people a fake name and then we’ll just see how long it takes before someone knows who he actually is and reveals that no, his name actually isn’t Ryouma.

Tell us about them: Kitten is an excuse for me to make the self-indulgent world of my high school dreams HAHAHA. They're a half-human assassin who is just here to have a good time - it's just, you know, they idea of a good time is Bloodshed. This is not a trend in my characters, shut up. They're very good at pretending to care and probably do have a sweet center somewhere in there, but they're mostly just here to do whatever they want. Maybe they will grow to be Not A Shitheel. Initial Ideas: They're going to be adjusting to their new powerset and testing what they can do with their fancy new magics (dark and technomancy), and they'll need to find a way to get more ammo for their guns. They'll also want to make connections, just in case they really do need people they can rely on to not Fucking Die.

Tell us about them: A teenager who Loves To Skateboard, even after his best friend quit the sport after a terrible injury. He just loves it and it's one of his top passions - he even designs and makes skateboards in his free time! - and he participates in a dangerous, underground skateboarding race known only as "S". He ends up meeting transfer student Langa, who he ropes into the world of skateboarding, and the two go on a very magical journey of love friendship and also skateboarding. It's a sports anime. It's all skateboarding in the end.
Initial Ideas: After the initial hype of being isekai'd settles, he's going to want to get a job, get some tools, find places to skateboard... Learn how to use his magic, too, and also meet new friends!! He's a very friendly and enthusiastic guy, so if your character needs someone to drag them out of their shell, he's very good at that.

... Well, more accurately, the Minotaur from Greek Mythology! Unlike the Minotaur NPC of Avalon, this guy is not a dick. He's a soft-spoken, animal-loving Servant with a huge guilt complex over his life in the maze. Unfortunately he's also a Berserker, so when he fights/gets too angry, he's out for blood. Until then, he's a lonely guy who thinks no one would love him once they know who/what he really is, so he will be distant to a lot of you at first.
Initial Ideas: He's going to be pretty confused about what to do without a Master (or at least Euryale) telling him what to do. But after enough prodding, he'll try to see if he can at least better himself with education, getting a job, being a productive member of society, etc.
What foreign country do you want to visit that you haven't been to yet? My bucket list is to visit every Disneyland/world there is.

Tell us about them: First I would like to apologize to everyone that now has to deal with this man. Lorenz is notoriously bad at socializing, despite being a political figure. He's arrogant and an idealist but he really honestly means well he's just horrible about explaining himself. He has a tendency to over-react and jump to the most absurd conclusions. He's also impossibly stubborn, judgmental, and the pettiest bitch you'll ever encounter. Which he mostly makes up for by being a hopeless romantic, poet, and dreamer but that's not how proper nobility behaves so he clearly has to make sure NO ONE KNOWS.

Initial Ideas: He's gotten a lot better from when he was young but he's still a disaster and has a lot of personal growth that still needs to happen. One of the best ways for that to happen is just exposure to other types of people, people that are not fantasy!Victorian uptight noble types and actually know how to do silly things like /legasp/ have fun. Madness. What is he supposed to do if he's not working himself into the ground?!

Initial Ideas: Naib is not a magic person per se, so he will definitely struggle a lot /laughs. enough even his eagle spirit familiar will be like 🙄 but!! would love to meet any potential mentors/tutors? especially those with healing as their main to give him an idea. Tell us about them: On the outside, Rika is a sweet eleven year old with the capacity to be a trickster. She is quite responsible for her age, taking on the responsibilities of the Furude House as its leader and being the miko to the village deity, Oyashiro-sama. But while a lot of her cheerful personality is genuine, there's tragedy lurking under the surface. Rika has been killed over and over for a hundred years, watching her friends commit and be the victims of horrific murders. The trauma of that has resulted in a secretly mature personality, which Rika is afraid to show others. Barely even two weeks ago, Rika finally broke that cycle of tragedy! ... But now she's here and hearing that her miraculous 'good ending' is in danger again.
Initial Ideas: Rika gets along well with adults and children alike. She's likely going to stay hush-hush about her past at first, because she isn't sure how to talk about it (she never even told her friends about it.) Because she's from a good ending, Rika is here to give everyone pep talks and promote the miracle of friendship! She's also going to need some time to recover from the shock of said good ending slipping out of her fingers, though.

Hoping for her to develop found family dynamics and play games with other children! She loves board and card games.
What foreign country do you want to visit that you haven't been to yet? I've already been to Japan, but I really want to go back and spend time outside of Tokyo. I missed out on traveling to Kyoto due to illness and I really regret it.
Anything else: Because Higurashi is super dark, I do have a Permissions Post for Rika with an opt-out section. However with Avalon being a cheery game, I do not intend to have Rika's trauma come up in casual RP. I'll be asking permission before dumping any details in her tags!
