Tell us about yourself: Shwmae bois! I am happy to be here at Avalon. My name is unkie and by day I am a translator of things nerdy and by night I think about tabletop games. I am in the extremely inconvenient timezone of BST (UTC+1) so my tags may come at you at surprising times, especially since I am freelance and i am beholden to no schedule. I like food and beverages and traveling (F) and languages, i guess--i'm learning welsh at the moment. i am at present impatiently waiting for the overwatch league to start and for Nier Replicant ver.1.22474487139... I whine about being too sleepy to work on plurk. that's all thank you

Tell us about them: Ceres is a half-elf farmer's-daughter-turned-warlock who woke up one morning in a mound of corpses to find her mother murdered, her father transformed into a horrid monster, and her brother missing. She swore she would get her revenge and was gifted some cool powers from Cthulu's cousin! (not really, but some kind of 6th dimension horror)
So she's a rightfully angry woman. She will take on any opportunity to better herself so that she may literally rip every limb off the people (plural) who did this to her family. While she tends to be single-minded, and often tosses rationality out the window when presented the opportunity to slit the throat of one of these people, she appreciates the practical. She's a great cook, a skill she's carried over from her past life, and can manage outdoor survival if need be. Though she prefers physical means of coercion and would rather not talk to people, her high CHA tells a different story--she can handle people relatively well when need be (aye she has a great time drinking with sailors), and is often convincingly blunt. She just doesn't like conversational fluff and pretty words.
Initial Ideas: Being literal worlds away from her object of revenge doesn't mean she can't stop working towards that goal, so she's going to keep training while she's here. Having to start over with magic isn't ideal but it isn't a huge setback--she's started from 0 before, and she'll do it again. And taking on shitton of quests (ICly, of course. the OOC bandwidth allowing). I was basically hoping to put her down the Unseelie route. She's totally fine getting her hands dirty and taking up jobs that most aren't willing to do.
I also want her to make friends. Please. She has never made friends before.
This is how I torture my characters.Or at least someone she can drink with at the tavern and then literally never talk to them outside of that.her familiar is a baby hydra btw (a "pet" she gets later on in "canon" that she hasn't gotten yet at this point) its very cute

okay no but for real the worst part about playing an OC is that i have no memes to share. memes among tabletop groups are just in jokes at that point. so here's an injoke about ceres: give her a gun. oh my god can i get her a gun here

I have, depending on your needs, a super-friendy highschooler who will aggressively befriend the shit out of anyone but especially traumatized, unfriendly types in Kaoru, as well as Yun Yifeng who would happily go drinking with her and is pretty easy going...if a bit nosy and with a tendency to tease. Neither of them can cook at all so she can come marvel at the degree to which they fail at this skill as well.

They both sound really good tbh. She may eventually fold and tolerate someone aggressively bent on befriending her, and she would definitely appreciate someone to drink with (and would consequently put up with the teasing). EITHER WAY, Ceres would probably stop anyone she sees doing a bad job at cooking, and would fix them up a proper meal all while berating them for being bad and/or having a bad diet. She could teach, but abrasively. Useful information disguised as insults. preemptively, i am sorry

Yes!! I really enjoyed our thread, it was a delight. They make for an interesting dynamic, so I would be more than happy to keep playing it out and see what happens! I'm sure Ceres would enjoy being a bad role model for a princess :) :)
