New Character OOC Intros
Welcome, new players and old players with new characters! This is the OOC Introduction post, made specially as a gathering place to meet and greet and get to know each other and our characters! Pronouns: She/Her
Tell us about yourself: I'm a videogame journalist and aspiring Vtuber/streamer. Outside that I write fiction and play video games and card games.
Character Name & Journal: Protagonist/Kumoko. She actually doesn't have a name at the point she's being taken from (The manga, just after escaping the labyrinth.) So feel free to call her whatever. I use Kumoko mostly because even the anime adaption calls her that in the closing theme song.
Tell us about them:
So! Kumoko here is a large spider monster from a mildly generic fantasy world. The kicker is she is actually the reincarnation of a high school girl who was killed under mysterious circumstances and found herself as a spider. From there she must survive using her wits and heavy abuse of an RPG-style skill system against a variety of monsters and other threats. This being an isekai canon, she quickly becomes hilariously overpowered, but since she's been nerfed down to base level here she's back to just her own intelligence and the ability to spin webs.
Since this is from an ongoing canon, the anime is actually airing as of writing, she is being taken from the manga, I will try to keep spoilers to a minimum. So enjoy Big Spider and all her antics as she attempts to cope and learn magic all over again. I'm very happy to be playing this adorable dork here.
Initial Ideas:
My first idea is Kumoko trying to cope with the loss of her skills. This basically leaves her at square one but this time she'll actually have other people to help her out along the way. Learning to live again should be an interesting angle with her taking on struggles such as learning magic, making friends, and just, in general, existing as a spider in a world where she can't solve all her problems by beating up monsters until her skill points go up. If that sounds interesting to you, or you just want your character to be friends with a giant spider I'm looking forward to plotting with you all.
Also her familiar is a smaller version of herself with a witch's hat and glasses. You know you want to play with it.
My Dream Aesthetic:
I really love the underused Sci-fi genre of Biopunk. While a neon-drenched dystopia is cool, I really like to see settings where genetic engineering has gone completely wild and the streets are filled with human/animal hybrids and other related nonsense.

Also they can learn to cope with the loss of their powers together. Kaoru is going to have to get used to not being able to fly and it's going to be hard.
