OOC Intros

Welcome, new players and old players with new characters! This is the OOC Introduction post, made specially as a gathering place to meet and greet and get to know each other and our characters! Please take a moment to introduce yourself. You may do it any way you like or, if you're a fan of structure, please feel free to use this handy dandy copy-paste:

Tell us about yourself: Hi all! I tag pretty frequently unless I start getting swamped, then it may take me a few days to plow through my queue. I like to boomerang, but please don't feel like you have to rush to reply even if I tag you back right away! That's just how I roll because I'm easily distractable by notifications, lol. Also I'm in EST but my hours are wacky, so don't be surprised if you see me tagging at my 4am.

I'm a media and game junkie. TV, video games, tabletop games, and RP/writing fanfiction make up like 85% of my free time. XD I also play with my two cats, Dante and Vergil (yes, they're named after the DMC characters). Currently making my way through Pokemon Sword and my...5th playthrough of FE3H. Soon I'll replay TWEWY in anticipation of the sequel!

Character Name & Journal: Zagreus | bloodandlife
Tell us about them: Zagreus is the prince of the Greek Underworld, son of Hades, notorious troublemaker, and occasional sarcastic little shit. His primary goal at home was to...well, escape his home, repeatedly fighting his way through armies of shades and a god or two in an attempt to reach the mortal world on the surface. (And gleefully ransacking every corner of his father's realm in the process. No urn is safe. Mostly that's because his strict and disdainful father has so little respect for his son that he won't even call him by name. Also, it's fun.)

Thing is, Zagreus is actually a compassionate and genuine guy who just wants to be everyone's friend, even if he's reckless and restless and manages to get himself into trouble frequently. He wants to help everyone with their interpersonal problems, to the point where sometimes he crosses over into meddling...but he just wants to see them reunited and happy!

Initial Ideas: The big one to begin with is that Zagreus has only seen the tiniest little bit of the surface world and is largely ignorant of not just modern technology but, like...everything. Until he got to Avalon, he didn't know what birds were. He's very excited to see and learn about all these new things! He's very likely to end up in trouble or making some weird assumptions along the way. Please help this poor, inexperienced guy. Or troll him, that's good too.

I definitely want to have him make lots of new friends, and maybe a rival or two. He's easy to get along with unless you're a jerk to him first, but he tries not to hold grudges past their expiration date. I want to give him a chance to meddle in other people's business in an attempt to fix their relationship problems, and get himself embroiled in them in the process. As for magic, he's most familiar with fire and the elements associated with his Olympian family (lightning, water, etc.) and he's used to flinging those around, so that should come fairly easily. Other stuff less so, and he'll just...sort of wing those. Later, when he starts learning blood magic, that will unsettle him more and it'll take him some time to get used to it. At least he's no stranger to having his own blood spilled... >_>

Hiya Juli! Welcome. I'm Caprica and I have this here clumsy not-Angel-anymore, Colette Brunel, from the more niche JRPG series, Tales of Symphonia. Basically, she's a girl raised as a sacrifice to Save Her World with replenishing the supply of Mana (sort of like a life force, without it crops and flowers/plants die etc) and there's a Lot More to it all but that's essentially it. That she is expected to over time in visiting these different Seals across her world, that she gradually gives up her humanity (no more talking, sleeping, eating, feeling anymore) in becoming an Angel.

I've loved Hades so far! My fiancé streamed playing it a bit and defeated Hades once so we got that initial meeting with his mother at the surface. I can't say for things past that but. I loved what I did get from it thus far. It's been fun, since I was able to teach him things that came up from my forever ago Classics classes in school and general knowledge and love of Greek myths/the Riordan books. I'm excited to see Zag around and possibly get cr at some point!

It's my nostalgic fave as the first Tales I played, yes. We have Kratos too and Emil from the sequel Dawn of the New World as well. Because idk somehow me being here has spawned more cast somehow or something.

I know there's more since you have to get to see his mum like, eight or nine more times but. I'm keen to figure the rest if he gets back to it at some point for sure. Colette has light and green magic so idk on her being able to help him with that but. Yes definitely I'd be keen for cr!

Zagreus! I've seen a lot of Hades and it's, like, next or second-to-next in my list of games to play. It looks fantastic, and I loved the characters, voice acting, and worldbuilding.

I'd love to have CR! Adelle can be friends with him, but would also be happy to spar and practice magic and the like.

Hi Juli, I'm Candace! I see Zagreus and offer you cr with Nero, who in his canon is son of the demon king and who is also an impulsive reckless protagonist type. :') I still haven't played Hades yet, but I bought it on sale and it's definitely on my playlist.

Hi Candace! omg hell yes I would love CR with Nero, I'm a longtime DMC fan and I adore him. (ngl, Vergil and Dante were both on my list of potential characters to app when I was first looking at the taken list and saw Nero and V on it...)

hi juli, i’m beren, welcome to the game! i have gu yun here, a general from steampunk ancient china. even though he’s been fighting a war for years, his core personality is still quite playful.

from his canon pull point, he thinks he’s already been killed, so i think he and zagreus could have some interesting conversations!

i haven’t played hades, but my husband has, so zagreus’ sarcastic voice is very familiar to me...
