OOC Intros

Welcome, new players and old players with new characters! This is the OOC Introduction post, made specially as a gathering place to meet and greet and get to know each other and our characters! Please take a moment to introduce yourself. You may do it any way you like or, if you're a fan of structure, please feel free to use this handy dandy copy-paste:

Tell us about yourself: I'm Gore, that one RPer who's probably mostly known for puns and dad jokes. I mostly keep up with RP and keep up with a bunch of canons from different media (though it's most consistently been western animation and video games lately). I end up RPing at different times throughout the day, especially with my work schedule fluctuating a lot, so there's a chance of reaching me at various hours. My speed can also vary from boomeranging to slow, but I still try to be consistent with tags. I am in four games now so I'll just see how this effects me! I also prefer brackets, but can adapt to prose.

Character Name & Journal: Drake Mallard / Darkwing Duck (flapsin)
Tell us about them: You might be familiar with Darkwing Duck as a cartoon from the 90s, with a character that was partially a parody of several sources (being a mishmash of several superheroes and pulp heroes, as well as taking on the spy genre). But the 2017 DuckTales reboot (which just ended last month, sadly) introduced an interesting new take on the character! In this series, Darkwing Duck was a show-within-a-show, and Drake Mallard is an actor and Darkwing Duck fanboy who essentially decides to become Darkwing Duck In Real Life! So he's a good-hearted nerdy adventurer who also has a big ego and tries his best to help out others, believing strongly in the Darkwing philosophy of getting up whenever you get knocked down. And he gets knocked down a lot, as he's fairly clumsy and has a tendency to end up with slapstick injuries! He also plays up everything theatrically as Darkwing Duck, while being relatively chill outside of costume.
Initial Ideas: I want to settle Darkwing Duck in here and I'm essentially game for any kind of CR! He has light magic and siphon magic, so he'll be practicing both. He'll also be trying to keep up the whole secret identity business and look for problems to solve as Darkwing Duck. Also as I started in the test drive, Darkwing will be going off to help with finding a way to stop that evil flower thing, and there will also be a Darkwing Doppleganger running around town in his absence. I like the idea of playing with this and doing sort of a pseudo-Negaduck plot with the Doppleganger! The Doppleganger is a lot like the real Darkwing, but with more of a self-centered ego that can put glory over doing what's right! So that can easily escalate Badly, and I'll figure out more of the particulars over time. It seems those prompts are supposed to continue into the April event, so I'll probably figure out the conclusion there! I may put up a log to set up more stuff in the meantime soon.
My Dream Aesthetic: I dunno, some kind of fantasy/absurdism without getting too random? Nintencore?

I went through the test drive without having picked one yet, but I ended up deciding simply on a spirit version of a bat! It seemed to fit his aesthetic well enough.
