OOC Intros

Welcome, new players and old players with new characters! This is the OOC Introduction post, made specially as a gathering place to meet and greet and get to know each other and our characters! Please take a moment to introduce yourself. You may do it any way you like or, if you're a fan of structure, please feel free to use this handy dandy copy-paste:

Tell us about yourself: Hello! I am also the Taiga Kagami player. I play FFXIV, I am slowly catching up on anime and other JRPGs, I live in SoCal so I am PST and I try to tag in the evenings and weekends!

Character Name & Journal: Machias Regnitz | gunlord
Tell us about them: Machias is the son of a governor who has a very low opinions on nobles due to spoilery things in his past and he will very much make it known how much he despises the noble elite. Yes, his dad is a governor but they were also commoners and earned that position rather than being born to it (he will have you know!) but honestly, aside from that, he's a good kid with very high moral standards who cares deeply for his fellow man, just also he has a bit of a temper lol. He's currently (sorta) attending Thors Military Academy and is part of Class VII, a hybrid class of nobles and commoners that have quickly become his family and spoilers a little here but he is from the end of the game where there is a civil war that literally just began so he's a bit stressed right now.
Initial Ideas: So, he's definitely going to experiment with the alchemy. Assuming his orbal shotgun still works, he's going to eventually run out of ammo and likely want to figure out a substitute since the mechanisms that make his shotgun more than ordinary is that his bullets likely contain septium ore which is a hot commodity in Zemuria as being used in things like lighting and heating but also as far as being refined into sepith which is what's used to in quartz that create their world's magic. His orbal shotgun abilities are crafts, not arts (magic) so I assume he can still use it until he runs out. SO once he runs out, he needs to figure out an alternative!

Aside from that, he'll likely be living with Gaius, another classmate and friend, and I'll definitely want him to make friends with others! Who knows if he'll ever see any of his other classmates and all that.

Glad you got in and sorry for dropping the ball on your TDM. Got a bit overwhelmed with stuff and working to catch up. Still excited for CR with Machias though! Regarding Machias' shotgun, once you got enough threads for AC rewards you can buy a magic reload and that should cover him. Probably the easiest route because even with me having played all games, I'm still scratching my head a bit in regards to guns in Trails (though that's nothing compared to trying to explain to mods about witch magic or WTF McBurn is).

Oh I didn't know magic reload was a thing. I need to look at the AC rewards list again lmao I've been here since opening and I'm still finding new stuff out, haha. Yeah, Trails is weird. I remember when I first started playing, I was like, "Can I just take a moment to laugh that everyone else has like... knives and swords and stuff... and then there's Machias with a freakin' shotgun?!"

I know Fie has gunblades but like, still? They're knives so it was like whatever and then there's Machias being the most extra and being able to use it with one hand? Bruh.

Hello! Cold Steel's on the list of games to play (someday, it's so long...) but Machias looks fun! I'd love to have Adelle meet him and talk to him. She's a mercenary and adventurer, who is cheerful, a little meddlesome, and down-to-earth. She won't get technology (orbal or otherwise!) much, but she'd be curious.

Also maybe a headache sometimes.

lol I hear you on the longevity of the game. I'm only on the second game myself and there's still Trails in the Ski and Trails of Azure/Zero to get through as they're part of the story too.

Adelle would be great! Haha, he's used to dealing with headaches.

Ahaha, yeah. It's awesome too, though! I really like how it's a lot of connected stories that develops the world a lot.

Hopefully Azure and Zero come out in North America!

And yes! She'll try to not be too much of a headache but no promises.
