OOC Intros

Welcome, new players and old players with new characters! This is the OOC Introduction post, made specially as a gathering place to meet and greet and get to know each other and our characters! Please take a moment to introduce yourself. You may do it any way you like or, if you're a fan of structure, please feel free to use this handy dandy copy-paste:

Don't forget to mention if it's OK for people to add you! <b>Pronouns:</b> Whatever they are, please include them so everyone can be respectful of who you are. <b>Tell us about yourself:</b> Hobbies, favorite times to tag, pets, quirks, favorite times/styles to tag, anything you'd like us to know. <b>Character Name & Journal:</b> Character name and journal here! <b>Tell us about them:</b> Give us a quick little introduction of your character, no more than a paragraph, to let us know a little about them. This will give people an idea of maybe how they can plot with their character and yours depending on potential interactions, but it also gives you a chance to gush about them to everyone. Tell us about yourself: Already in game with Corwin (thepattern) and Momo Yaoyorozu (recommendations)! I'm 32, EST. I tend to tag most on weekends and I am t r y i n g to pull myself out of a burnout-induced slump, so hopefully adding a new character will help with that. My main fandoms are Marvel, Star Wars, My Hero Academia, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, D&D, various podcasts.

Character Name & Journal: Bean (aka Julian Delphiki II) justlittle
Tell us about them: Bean is a seven year old prodigy child soldier who just helped Earth defeat alien invaders by... blowing up the aliens' home planet and killing their entire species. WHOOPS. He's the smartest person in any given room, and he doesn't appreciate being overlooked or talked down to.
Initial Ideas: I would love Bean to meet other kids/teens, but also for him to meet adults who want to try (despite his objections) to look out for him. He doesn't trust easily, and is really bad at making friends, but I am looking forward to throwing him into new situations and encounters!
My Dream Aesthetic: bright-colors-comfycore
Anything else: Bean's canon contains a lot of sensitive material such as child soldiers, child homelessness, food insecurity, human experimentation, children killing other children, and genocide. Not to mention the fact that the author is a homophobic shitbag. If you would like to opt-out of interacting with Bean for any reason, he has a screened opt-out post here.

Every so often I forget how much my Dad's book series is influenced by Ender's Game & Case Closed / Detective Conan, and Bean just 100% reminded me, BUT IN A GOOD WAY! Where I'm like "I should really give this shit more of a read-through..."

Absolutely unrelated sidenote: OSC being homophobic still trips me out, because Songmaster got me into yaoi looking for more exploring that kind of themes not set in the Roman empire or forbidden ala Brokeback Mountain. (19 years later I can say "Oh, it's because I was more interested in the Emperor who wants to conquer to make humanity better, and get rid of the evils" but 15 yo me had no clue)

ANYWAY, I love the thread Bean & Nobunaga have, and Oda will almost definitely try to look out for the military genius prodigy, because Nobu is literally more childish (/sob sob) he wants Bean to have CANDY (because candy is great!), and he wants Bean to teach him things. 47 year old looks to the 7 year old for knowledge. Nothing wrong here.

Yeah, it's really too bad about OSC... I can't even finish Bean's book series because the forced hetero agenda is Way Too Gross. But I love playing him from earlier canon so that's what I keep doing.

I'm really enjoying his thread with Oda too! He's still very ?????? about how a 16th century historical figure could be present but he'll figure it out eventually.... And please, try to convince him to eat candy. He will utterly reject the idea outright.

BEAN LISTEN! CANDY IS THE SECRET TO HIS POWER! And practically his DREAM about Japan is to enable it to be so prosperous everyone can have candy. \o/ And don't let Mitsuhide and/or (we don't have one) Hideyoshi tell you it's not worth it, they're liars.

He will tell Bean all about wormholes, and pretend he knows wtf they are and how they work even though he only got shown evidence and knows they're ~fanciful~ even 500 years into his future. His canon gets silly. But the IRL historical stuff (he desperately wanted to pet a sheep, and genuinely loved konpeito so much he wanted all of Japan to be able to eat it, and he kept trying to convince people capes are VERY COOL and fashionable! And not at all bad just because they're European, everyone should wear CAPES!) is somehow sillier??? Burning Mt. Hiei aside...
