Welcome, new players and old players with new characters! This is the OOC Introduction post, made specially as a gathering place to meet and greet and get to know each other and our characters! Please take a moment to introduce yourself. You may do it any way you like or, if you're a fan of structure, please feel free to use this handy dandy copy-paste:

Tell us about yourself: Nice to (indirectly) meet everybody! I'm a perpetually overworked academic who is nonetheless extremely passionate about her shit and her students. If you're brainy yourself, please feel free to reach out and say hello. C: In my free time, I love cooking/baking, learning new languages and working with the ones I already know, reading/writing (of course), video games (replaying The World Ends With You right now to prepare for this summer's release, hehe), and being dead to the world for nine hours straight (when I can manage sleeping in that long, anyway). I live in GMT+1!

Tell us about them: Blake is an ex-revolutionary Faunus (that is, a person with cat ears) from Remnant, where the rest of the RWBY cast hails from! For most of her life she fought for her peoples' rights as part of an organization called the White Fang, but left them (and her abusive boyfriend) once they began committing crimes and killing humans. She then enrolled at Beacon Academy to become a Huntress (the in-universe equivalent of a mercenary) and kept her Faunus heritage and revolutionary activity a secret from her friends and teammates for a while out of fear they'd reject/harm her. She's had a fuckton of character development since the first season of the series and thanks to the persistence of her friends has become a warmer, more expressive, trusting person who's just as dedicated to her values and a peaceful life for all citizens of Remnant. Her hobby's reading -- been a hot minute since she's had the time!
Initial ideas: Blake will be very curious about beings from other worlds once she's settled in -- especially other humans with animal features and non-human creatures who act like people! She's already pulled a Twitter math lady over the metaphysics of jamjars, so she'll probably post to the network asking people for their impressions/existing research sometime in the near future, too. What I want most for Blake is friends of all stripes, honestly, and lots of cute CR. C: She has Serious Feelings for our resident Yang Xiao Long, but she's also a bisexual disaster -- I'm not opposed to her developing tiny crushes on others/others developing them on her.
My dream aesthetic: Oh, what a cute question... I dig art nouveau and dark academia, so a mishmash of that, maybe? I also looove lush indoor plants/flowers and unexpected combinations of different materials (wood, metal, marble, etc.), lots of natural lighting...
Anything else: Please read her permissions! Her history can be potentially triggering; just let me know if there's anything you don't want to come up between her and your character, or if you'd rather not play with her entirely. No hard feelings or explanation needed! I'm also pretty fresh to writing this character, so please let me know how I can improve -- I always welcome concrit! Looking forward to writing with you all.

Ahh, best RWBY boy!! I loved him and Neptune in RWBY Chibi's Junior Detectives bit... Sun was so good to Blake while they were in Menagerie, too. She owes so much of her character development to their friendship.

Anyway, it's good to meet you!! I'd love some CR between her and Lightning. I'm pretty canon blind to FFXIII, but from what I can gather I think they'd mesh well. c: Feel free to hit me up on DM's here/on a CR meme/on Plurk or Discord with thread ideas anytime, and I'll do the same.

(I am still not over the Vol. 8 finale, lmao, hence why I'm here -- it gave me such an itch to write Blake and Weiss in particular.)

HAHA I've been thinking of making a Winter journal after all that... even though I really should have a long time ago.

But yes! I think they'd get along great, and that Lightning would take to Blake pretty easily. Maybe we can figure something out at the event later this month :) I'll absolutely be sure to hit you up as soon as I think of something.

omg this is the good stuff. dkasfjh I hope the worldbuilding and connections made are fun for everyone! Without the power nerfs on everyone in Avalon, Cloud would even have an Aura. No semblance (they joke that his would be "Perpetually Spiky Hair". useless) but he's learned quite a few things about Remnant.

I honestly live for worldbuilding through CR and love working with the metaphysics of jamjars, so I'm super looking forward to this! I usually play more high maintenance/paranoid characters so it's really nice to be able to explore these themes without having to be as obsessive/on top of things as that type tends to be, haha. (An aura where you never have to use hair gel... Honestly, we're all just jealous.)
