new character ooc intro

Welcome, new players and old players with new characters! This is the OOC Introduction post, made specially as a gathering place to meet and greet and get to know each other and our characters! Please take a moment to introduce yourself. You may do it any way you like or, if you're a fan of structure, please feel free to use this handy dandy copy-paste:

Okita Souji is here baby
Contact: OddEyes588#2277 or
Pronouns: He/Him/They/Them
Other Characters? Artoria Pendragon and Aigis
Tell us about yourself: My hyperfixations are wild and uncontrollable. Expect the unexpected. Expect me to yell about any canon I have a character for. I also recently watched and got obsessed with Symphogear so expect me to yell about that too.
Character Name (Canon): Okita Souji (Fate/Grand Order)
Tell us about them: The Saber Servant otherwise known as Sakura Saber... yep, that's right, it's another Saberface and no there's not really a reason why Okita Souji is turning out to have actually been a girl, she's a girl because wouldn't it be funny if we had ANOTHER Saberface? She's everybody's favorite Gudaguda Servant (according to her) and she has a tendency to cough blood.
Initial Ideas: No particularly solid goals, but I absolutely wanna have fun with her here and cause some chaos... because my other two characters aren't chaotic enough and so I need to balance it out.
What do you like most about spring?: It's not as freezing as winter and it's not as hot as summer.
Anything else:

Would absolutely love for this! Fortunately, Okita doesn't have Tuberculosis exactly but she sure is excessively famous for it, so Weak Constitution baby. Thanks, Throne of Heroes. Come fuss over the fact that she keeps coughing up blood at the worst possible times.

And oh, that's good that it's not outright tuberculosis (but still concerning enough!). He may alternate between fussing and panic-induced inappropriate hardassery ("Stop coughing up blood!! Pull yourself together!"). I don't play FGO, but now in hindsight this Hijikata's local ghost patrol is perhaps a little similar to FGO Hijikata's Noble Phantasm... in the end they can't help being Hijikatas.

+1 SAME KING, DIffERENT FLAVOR...
Contact:
Pronouns: Any are fine!
Other Characters? n/a currently, though I have been thinking of trying my hand at some OG Fates, like Rin or Sakura, for PSLs/memes.
Tell us about yourself: HELLLLOOOO WORLD! I'm 30-something, living in a house in PA with my roommate who is also my childhood bff, and her cat. As of this very moment, most of my time and energy is dedicated to trying to secure a job in the tech sector and build my portfolio as a baby developer, so the topic of career transitioning consumes quite a bit of Plurk real estate. For hobbies, obviously I enjoy RP. I read on my Kindle (just finished Left Hand of Darkness). I love fashion, makeup, and assorted body care products, and I like to post pictures on my Instagram for the #Aesthetic -- when I have time, that is. I spend a good bit of time on various social media and I watch YouTube and movies, either by myself or with my roommate. I love to travel, but haven't been able to in two years for reasons we all know. I'm hoping to take this passion back up when I become employed again. I'm currently just having a renaissance of Fate/ feelings and basically doing a big ol' canon review in my spare time. I have been watching FGO LPs and reading the MC LP and I plan to go through much more of the series and add commentary on it as I go. If I had more time, I'd check out more series, probably. As it is, I just wait for friends to do streams, lol.
Character Name (Canon): Gilgamesh! You might know him from a tiny, incredibly small franchise named Fate/
Tell us about them: 🙌 This version of Gilgamesh is older and wiser (but still a bit of a petulant ass sometimes) than the OG version of him from the main canon. He might still call you a mongrel here or there, but he won't demand your head for daring to speak to him without permission. Gilgamesh is a Servant, a sort of supernatural entity based on an ancient hero -- in this case, the earliest hero, or the "king of heroes" (AUO!). During his life, he traveled the world and collected all of its treasures. After his failed journey for immortality, he settled down and became a wiser king, and in FGO, he played a role in overseeing the defense of Uruk against world-ending calamities like all-but-indestructible Beasts intent on erasing human history at the beginning. Gilgamesh has only ever had and will only ever have One Friend(TM), but he is pretty outgoing in his own way and can interact with people at a variety of levels.
Initial Ideas: This version of Gilgamesh is very duty-focused and tends to especially show his best side against large calamities (see also, Babylonia), so he will certainly be interested in the over-arching conflict of the game and the world-saving aspect. However, he's also an explorer and curious by nature, so he can easily participate in quests and different activities. I don't know everything I want to do with him yet, but I'm very open to plotting and will probably be hitting people up on the plotting posts as they go up! Also, I know there's a huge Fate/ cast here, so I hope more of y'all will pop up. Either way, I might be reaching out to more of you, since there are some rare muses here I'd enjoy threading with, lol. ♥
What do you like most about spring?: I can actually go outside and take walks again. THE SUN, IT IS REAL.
Anything else: I just re-did the boy's layout. I will be adding links for his inbox, permissions, etc. bit by bit, so please check back in soon. For permissions or to ask a question about my prefs. or etc, you can always feel free to PM me or message me on the above channels. I'm very open-minded in general and down for threading a lot of different things, either in the game or in general!
(bee tee dubs, did I mention I super love Master/Servant interactions? ♥ )

I've got Gintama's Hijikata here, and while he's not a Berseker his temper isn't too far off when he loses it (though instead of pickles he's obsessed with mayonnaise).
During our recent 4th wall event he had a run-in with a visiting Gilgamesh and immediately butted heads with him over being called a mongrel (and then quickly got to know his handy sword portals, oops) - so if you're up for it he can remember that! Then his reaction to seeing your Gilgamesh will probably be along the lines of "Oh shit, this guy actually washed up here for good?!" I think they could have a fun (initially?) semi-antagonistic relationship, but we can just see how the dice fall, if you're up for it!

I'll keep an eye out for him, and if you see a prompt of mine that interests you first, go for it - but above all take it easy! Between the FAQ, locations, bestiary and everything else on the navigation page there's a lot to explore.

You've got the TDM covered, so you can just dive right into the current event log, put up a top-level with prompts and/or tag around! If you want to do quests, those aren't actually played on the current questboard post, but in individual posts people put up - whether it's a monthly catch-all with other random prompts (like I usually do) or just a stand-alone for one quest! It's also OK to play quests in inboxes if you don't want to make a whole post for that.
In terms of what's best to do when, there are no rules! The new quests always go up towards the end of the month (for example those for May went up on April 27th), mostly so people can already read and plan in advance. Quests can be played at any point throughout the month, no restrictions. Some post their quest prompts as soon as the quests are available, but I always wait for the TDM on the 1st and the CR meme on the 4th to gather everything I want to do and then plot with people interested in the same prompts!
The event always goes up on the 17th, but Avalon is very backtag-friendly, so it's always OK to post (or tag in) late there, too (not that now would be late already, especially since we have a slow month anyway with many people on hiatus!).
In short: do whatever interests you! I reckon the only caveat would be that if you want to get Gilgamesh a certain title ASAP it would be best to focus on doing as many quests of the relevant type as possible.

It helps he's the only one who ever answered my call in FGO.But hiiiii, I'm the Ereshkigal you've played with. I'm super late to checking the intro post, but I hope you'll have fun in Avalon. I'm really enjoying our thread and I'm looking forward to see how Gil will do in this world. At the very least he and Eresh can rejoice together at the knowledge Ishtar isn't in this world and they can know peace. For now.

BUT YEAH, I'm glad you're enjoying it! I am, too! Ngl seeing a fellow Babylonian here was a big draw as far as game considerations. I love my Sumerians, what can I say. Eresh is like, sistah from another mother territory (much as Gil denies his divine heritage, lol). I definitely hope their presence will attract an Ishtar eventually. I have known like... 3 Ishtars over the years, but I don't think any of them play anymore. I just checked the Plurk of one and it looks like she last had her on a meme months ago and has vanished. I'm just having a Fate/RP renaissance after a long hiatus and have been marathoning FGO LP stuff, so it's just my luck that my timing kinda sucks in terms of roping in some people, lol! But at least there's a nice big cast here. And like I said, we might draw some peeps like Ishtar out of the woodwork. I'm hoping, anyway! Though Eresh and Gil, ICly, would not be hoping, I'm sure, lol.
