Welcome, new players and old players with new characters! This is the OOC Introduction post, made specially as a gathering place to meet and greet and get to know each other and our characters! Please take a moment to introduce yourself. You may do it any way you like or, if you're a fan of structure, please feel free to use this handy dandy copy-paste:

Tell us about yourself: EST, and i draw a bunch! i also like playing jrpgs and translating jp>en.

Character Name (Canon): Rinwell (Tales of Arise)
Tell us about them: Rinwell's a 14 year old girl from the planet of Dahna, which has seen 300 years of subjugation under Rena's rule! Her issues go even further, however, having been born a mage, and thus being one of very few on Dahna who can use magic. This causes her a degree of separation from others and also a lot of self-doubt because of how different she is. She's from late-game however, where she's worked through some of her problems for the most part! Instead, she's going to have reverse issues here due to having her magic taken from her and replaced with this knock-off stuff..... It was an integral part of her identity, after all. She may be a little depresso without her friends to talk to about it (and in general), but at least she has a smol pet owl named Hootle that will absolutely protect her or become your friend depending on how you act.
Initial Ideas: I'd be happy with any sort of CR she makes! She'll need to make some friends, maybe someone else who gets along with Hootle. But negative CR is also super fun and I wouldn't mind her having someone to fight with. Also other mages who've had their totally better magic taken from them here? Yes.
What is your favorite type of gemstone or crystal? I really like rose quartz...! I just got a necklace of it recently... happee.

Having your superior magic replaced with cheap knock-offs... sure wouldn't know what that's like, ah hah ha...

I'm not very familiar with Arise yet, but happy to see more Tales in the game! Rinwell and her feathery friend sound precious! I'll see about tagging her once I'm off hiatus.

Why hello there! I just started playing Arise like twoish days ago and I JUST got Rinwell, she is adorable and I am delighted to see her here!!

Ah, you made it in! Yay! I know I poked you before with regards to Rinwell but proper introductions or whatever. I'm Caprica, over @

caprican. I have Colette here and also Kyo Sohma from Fruits Basket as well because idk I am reverting back to playing nostalgic favourites or something at the moment.

I'm still working my way through Arise but. I'm super keen to properly get cr going now you're accepted and we can do more beyond the intro stuff with the test drive! Colette isn't exactly a mage but. Being here means no Angelic abilities and no wings so she gets being upset over losing that sort of thing in coming here. She's from the Final Seal canon point so she's had to be filled in on a lot from Kratos and Emil, haa. Maybe I will eventually update her but for now that's where she is at. Hootle is not a dog but still Adorable regardless, she will love the tiny floofy owl baby!

Kyo on the other hand is newer and still adjusting a lot in freaking out not over his having animal magic (because meh that is basically the zodiac curse back home but without the worry over hugs/the True Form, not that he has tested taking off his beads yet) and more his blood magic. He's from the summer beach arc canon point if you are familiar with the manga.

aww, colette ;o; well if you need me to keep avoiding spoilers i'll happily do my best!! i wouldn't wanna spoil you on arise, esp since i'm taking rinwell from right at the final dungeon.

i am unfortunately not familiar with fruits basket, probably in a minority there lmkjshdg, but i wouldn't mind if you wanted to throw him at rinwell sometime too!!

I am heading off to go fight the fifth/final Lord so idk? how much more there is after that if much at all? But I'm getting there! If that helps with vaguely trying to tell you where I'm up to without hopefully spoiling for others anyway.

Fruits Basket is basically Found Family series. It's a bunch of Sohma family that some of them turn into animals of the zodiac when hugged (by the opposite sex)/sick/weak. The protag, Tohru, ends up living with some of the Sohma after she has nowhere to stay when her grandfather has renovations done on her place (Tohru is an orphan) and is basically Tohru's journey in helping the Sohma heal from their trauma with this family. Kyo is one of the three Sohma she stays with, and he's the Cat of the zodiac. He also has a second (True) Form which terrifies basically everyone including Tohru but she was able to admit that fear and still want to be with him, which is how/when on Kyo's end at least, things started shifting in his feelings for her. He has an agreement with the Sohma head of the family to defeat Yuki, the Rat of the zodiac, before he finishes school or he gets locked away (as is the usual expectation with the Cat. The Cat is basically the one the rest look down on like well this sucks in transforming into different zodiac animals but at least they are not the Cat!) I won't go too much into detail otherwise on spoiling you in case you want to check it out for yourself but. Kyo's basically the jerk with a heart of gold type. Prob remind Rinwell of Law some, martial arts nerd and all. He's from a little further in after Tohru finds out about his True Form, once he himself admits to himself that he has Feelings for her, essentially, while they're out at the beach on summer break from school.

(I've finished Arise, so no fear of spoilers here and I'm just happy to see Arise characters in Avalon. Hopefully we'll get more.)

Hello and welcome! I'm Christine, and I play Balthier from Final Fantasy XII. I am in the process of playing Tales of Arise myself and am so excited to see Rinwell here! Balthier is also a big nerd for history and world lore, so I feel like if Rinwell gets invested in learning more about this place as she's feeling better, they will have a lot to talk about!

Also, so glad she got to keep Hootle. He's the best bird.

yesss oh my gosh fellow history nerds... she would be able to get along with him swimmingly over that. her book weapons actually have small descriptions of whats in them and the one i had her come with has pics of dahna so she could teach him about that too uwu i'm in the middle of playing ffxii myself actually so eventually i will understand him better
