Welcome, new players and old players with new characters! This is the OOC Introduction post, made specially as a gathering place to meet and greet and get to know each other and our characters! Please take a moment to introduce yourself. You may do it any way you like or, if you're a fan of structure, please feel free to use this handy dandy copy-paste:

Tell us about yourself: An EST person who still write CST first before backspacing. My life is 90% kpop (but I'm not One Of Those, I swear), 10% other miscellaneous things I find interesting. I'm trying to get back into reading, so any book recs are always accepted.

Character Name (Canon): Jiang Yanli
Tell us about them: Yanli is the most sisterly big sister to ever sis. She puts other people before herself in almost any scenario, and her whole life revolves around the unity and safety of her family. Her boyfriend is a dick. Observant as hell. Very much the 'oldest daughter is actually the third parent' trope. She wants to feed you soup.
Initial Ideas: She's a pretty easy bet for positive CR — any wayward souls or hungry stomachs will be taken care of post haste when she's around. Negative CR would be interesting, if only because she is an expert at holding in and swallowing negativity unless her family is threatened or insulted. Doesn't mean it's impossible otherwise! She has healing and green magic, if that means anything to anyone, and her familiar is Jingwei!

Yanli! She's the most precious. I loved her so much. She deserved so much better than her fate. I'm glad to see her around. Which is to say welcome back? I guess? I'm Caprica and I have this here clumsy not!Angel in Avalon, Colette Brunel from Tales of Symphonia and she also has Green Magic. Colette def has more a sweet tooth (a lot of her Cooking recipes in-game involve fruits and such to reflect that) but I could see her liking soup still. She's prob not nearly that picky given she can taste again after not being able to for a while back home. I feel they would really get along though given Colette is also the self sacrificing and protective type.

JUSTICE FOR YANLI I started RPing her basically to give her more positive experiences in games lmao she deserves to live a little...or at all.

Honestly I'm sure Yanli has other recipes in her wheelhouse, so perhaps we'll start with soup and work her way up to desserts. Especially since she's used to Ancient Chinese sweets, and therefore can learn about a lot of other kinds of food.

I'm super excited to explore that part of their CR; two self-sacrificing gals enter, do either of them leave?? Only time will tell.

She deserves all the justice! I totally get that in that being why I picked up some characters though, yes. (Including Wei Wuxian.)

Colette is not the worst but not the best cook in Symphonia at least? But yes she would be keen to try those Chinese sweets though! Om nom.

But yeah, Colette is what you get when you raise someone telling them since they can remember that they are expected to sacrifice themselves for everyone else because they are the Chosen. And the issues this person can have because of that (explored with her and Zelos, the Chosen of the other parallel world as they both figure vying for the supply of Mana between the two.)

Piaaaaaaa! 'Tis Min and I'm so happy to see you and the good girl in Avalon!!

I'm playing this very clueless soldier boy Ledo from Suisei no Gargantia / Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet which is why I never name the canon in English in any game wHO HAS THE TIME. He is from an ultra-specialised space society where the only thing that matters is The War and they don't have stuff like uhhhh solid food or families and since all he's ever done is combat since he's been born he has no social skills and is pretty terrible at everything except FIGHT. So you know, all her valuable Jiang Cheng experience will probably help? He's had several people so far make him think about having more in life than just war, so he's attempting to be more open to new things and ideas (with mixed results). Ledo's definitely never met anyone like Yanli and will probably ask her a million questions, but in canon, some of his most positive influences were sweet girls offering food who don't take crap from anybody so I think they might have pretty neat CR!

LONG TIME NO SEE FRIEND

Can't believe Jiang Cheng has a space cousin...I vaguely remember watching a few episodes of this back in my anime days and really loved the aesthetic. She's of course always willing to answer anything and share whatever she has. At least, once she has stuff to share in Avalon, but she's resourceful enough to have a well-stocked pantry soon enough.

Although maybe some of her answers may be weird due to Wuxia so ??? Welcome to the Wonderful World of Chinese Wizards™, Ledo.

Yanli is such a great character, she did indeed deserve better, alas. I’m so glad to see her here, welcome (back).

Gu Yun here is an ancient Chinese general from Sha Po Lang, which is a book about politics, fiat currency, and steampunk robots, masquerading as a danmei novel. He likes soup, though he’ll push all the vegetables to the side.
