QuestBoard is an app you can download onto your smartphones. Each month, people around town will posts jobs asking for help with various tasks like building furniture, running errands, pet sitting, and more. Characters can make a living off of this if they choose to and assume normal day-to-day tasks you would normally find on an app IRL like TaskRabbit. Handwaved tasks do not earn credit toward gaining a title, but the special tasks labeled as this month's "Top Tasks" in the app will gain clout for your character.

QuestBoard Top Tasks are the ones that are posted at the start of each month. Any character may complete them, even if they seem like a unique task, because time being frozen and magic mayhem are a recipe for weird time pockets resulting in multiple occurrences in the same space. (Tl;dr there are no dibs, just have fun.) There are three kinds of tasks, each labeled with a symbol for its type:

= COMBAT QUEST (counts toward Knighthood OR Unseelie)
= ASSISTANCE QUEST (counts toward Nobility OR Arcane Mage)
= SPECIAL (see quest details)

Combat and assistance quests are the most common and will appear every month. Specials are tasks that either fit both categories, neither category, or has some kind of exceptional reward. Special tasks are uncommon, so do not expect to see them all the time.

Each quest is worth 1 Rewards point unless your character has achieved Knighthood or Nobility status (See FAQ for more information), which both double rewards points.

Do not reply to this post to do a quest. Just thread out the quest and turn it in as instructed on the Rewards Points (Elphame Traders) page when you are ready to redeem. Threads must be started in the month that the quest was announced, though it may start at any day during the month and you may backtag as necessary. PUMPKIN MAYHEM!	Don’t Lose Your Head	BUNKER DOWN	A Culinary Quest
Help! Some of our pumpkins got given the wrong fertilizers when they were growing and now whenever someone decorates a pumpkin at our pumpkin patch, the pumpkins animate and gain a personality inspired by the decorations! Some of the decorations are evil and now we have flying mischievous pumpkins running around and various other sorts! We need help in catching them!	With the large number of deaths lately, a number of darker fae have moved into the area. None so famous as the Headless Horseman. Apparently some otherworlders were involved in stealing his head, and so he has returned and is going around beheading those who spend too much time trying to clean up the deceased in Celliwig. Protect the volunteers by fighting off the horseman each time he returns to try to take a new head as his own.	Recovery efforts are being organized, but it may be a little while before Camelot is able to engage in social distancing. There definitely aren’t enough beds, and there have been reports of some people being forced to share mattresses… swing by the woodworking site right outside of the Broceliande to help assemble bunk beds for the inn to help make the fall and winter a little more hospitable for everyone.	Fortune Panda is constantly looking for new culinary discoveries. We have decided to challenge everyone to find an extraordinary ingredient to use in dishes and bring it back to us. Not the goody two-shoes type? Every realm that has the internet also has a dark web-- a place where illegal opportunities are rife for the taking. Characters may hear about how to access the dark web if they are going around trying to get involved in criminal activity. This is an alternate option for characters who would not seek out nobility or knighthood and wish to take a darker path toward the titles of Unseelie or Arcane Mage.

Note that while characters may complete tasks from either the QuestBoard or the Dark Web, they can only choose either Nobility/Knighthood titles OR Unseelie/Arcane Mage titles.

The organized crime in this city has to protect what's ours and keep our territory under control. With the extra people, we need some extra muscle. Not telling you who you're working for, but we'll send you street sectors to collect protection fees from and make sure to beat down any trouble from any refugees disagreeing with how things work in our territory or causing trouble with those who paid our protection fees.	A new gang is forming and you are invited to join our humble ranks! Though we will never meet in person and never share each others' names, I invite you to partake in the robbing of any aristocratic home who has not offered space to refugees or shared their food with those who need it in these trying times. Redistribute to those in need. Wear a hood to conceal your face, all those who need the name Robin Hood may use it.	There are a lot of injured people that have needs healing magic can’t necessarily fix! Sell your organs to our fae healers today for substantial reward. Warm your soul and warm your pockets, we’ll warm someone else’s body while you recover from surgical removal in the warmth of your home with a enchanted pain-killing crystal we'll provide along with your monetary reward! We promise not to take any organs you don’t agree to sell! *Side note: crystal may result in loss of all feeling while in use. Store in a lead box to prevent effects.

Are there any restrictions for the ingredients and what counts as "extraordinary"? Ardyn is a No Good Very Bad man and if given the opportunity would interpret this request rather... liberally.

Extraordinary is more like a blanket permission to bring any food people might have never tried before themselves or seem like native to Avalon itself rather than anywhere else.

Any meat products will be checked by Archer through cognitive magic (to see their origin source through flashes of the "items" past) so anything.... ah, suspicious will certainly be rejected.

And if the person is suspicious enough everything else will be checked too just in case.

Well, Ardyn is definitely suspicious enough by default, unless Archer would easily trust a smarmy overdressed bastard :'D But thank you for answering! Ardyn probably will still bring some Suspicious Meats, though. But possibly not human or humanoid. Mayhaps.

Would it be cool for a character to assume that those same aristocrats in prompt "A QUEST FROM LOCKSLEY" are possibly in charge of "SUN'S OUT, GUN'S OUT"?

You can assume some of them are! Organized crime leaders would be rich and qualify, but they would also be way more likely to retaliate and hunt your character down, so just make sure that you're playing with consequences if you wanna do something like that. They didn't gain territory by being weak on people who steal from them!

Is there a given monetary reward for the Robin Hood quest, or are participants meant to, ahem, reward themselves from the houses in question?

They are welcome to "redistribute" the funds as they see fit. If they see themselves as needing some, they are welcome to take it.. as long as at least some of it makes its way to helping others!

Locksley: what would happen if one simply robs an aristocratic home, but does not necessarily "redistribute"? Or, say, "redistributes" by making people fight for the stolen money? Ardyn is pretty allergic to doing outright good things.

Organ donors: what happens if one donates their own organs? Do they... grow back? Or do you die if you decide to donate a heart or a brain (your own)?

Ardyn, stealing isn't a good thing to begin with even if it's for an arguably good cause... SMH. Anyway, it's the dark web, there's no way to really stop that so go for it.

Nope, your organ is gone! People don't age, but they're not immortal in Avalon. So maybe stick to something you don't need like a kidney or a gallbladder or part of your liver, skin for grafts or an eye something you can spare unless you want to follow the death process detailed in the FAQ.

Yes, but stealing for a good cause is boring! It's a lot more fun to PRETEND to steal for a good cause, but actually use it for a bad one. Let an old man have his fun, won't you? :D

Also no thanks, he would rather donate other people's organs. He's fairly attached to his organs and likes them to do the same.

Zidane and Somnus are currently doing this quest and we were wondering how much leeway we have in npc-ing the horseman?
Also, we have a few q's:
1. Is the Horseman able to be bartered with its missing head, like via bargaining magic?
2. Zidane wanted to ask the horseman a few things:
----> what the horseman is and what he does since it's a Dullahan's job to kill people
----> zidane would like to request that the horseman to not kill the volunteers

The only NPCs you wouldn't be able to play are the official recurring game/event NPCs (Arthur, Merlin, Archimedes, Lady of the Lake, Gwion, Morganna, Glewlwyd, Kymbyr). But quests are largely player-driven and y'all are welcome to play them out and have fun with them as you like, including NPCs, provided it falls within the parameters of the creature's profile (if not included in the post, it is usually in the bestiary).

1. Yes! You can always check if bargaining is available for creatures on the bestiary, for future reference.

2. The horseman is an unseelie and acts in malevolence, often untargeted unless it has a reason to chase a specific target. It's going to do its thing.

From the Bestiary, for your reference:

A headless fae that rides around on a demonic horse carrying a whip made of human vertebrae. Dullahans carry their head at their side. It is a fright to see him riding in the night, but the true terror lies when the rider stops: it is said that whenever a dullahan stops riding, it is because someone nearby is at the end of their life. The dullahan's head is particularly harrowing, as it has the ability to kill whomever's name it speaks. The dullahan's head is incredibly valuable among ne'er-do-wells for this reason. It is said the Green Knight may have been a dullahan.

That said, if it gets its head back, it will stop intentionally targeting Celliwig, including the volunteers should you wish to strike that bargain, and go back to killing unlucky encounters.

bit of an 'oops, probably should have figured this out beforehand', but is the quest considered complete if the person smashes/destroys the pumpkins instead of capturing them?

They need them returned! They're not much use if they can't be sold or eaten eventually-- they're certainly not going to pay for you to return their own damaged goods.

Oops. Oh well. Good thing this sort of exact misunderstanding is perfectly IC for my bird.
