QuestBoard - June 2022
QuestBoard is an app you can download onto your smartphones. Each month, people around town will posts jobs asking for help with various tasks like building furniture, running errands, pet sitting, and more. Characters can make a living off of this if they choose to and assume normal day-to-day tasks you would normally find on an app IRL like TaskRabbit. Handwaved tasks do not earn credit toward gaining a title, but the special tasks labeled as this month's 'Top Tasks' in the app will gain clout for your character.
QuestBoard Top Tasks are the ones that are posted at the start of each month. Any character may complete them, even if they seem like a unique task, because time being frozen and magic mayhem are a recipe for weird time pockets resulting in multiple occurrences in the same space. (tl;dr there are no dibs, just have fun.) There are three kinds of tasks, each labeled with a symbol for its type:
= COMBAT QUEST (counts toward Knighthood OR Unseelie)
= ASSISTANCE QUEST (counts toward Nobility OR Arcane Mage)
= SPECIAL (see quest details) Combat and assistance quests are the most common and will appear every month. Specials are tasks that either fit both categories, neither category, or has some kind of exceptional reward. Special tasks are uncommon, so do not expect to see them all the time.
Each quest is worth 1 Rewards point unless your character has achieved Knighthood or Nobility status (See FAQ for more information), which both double rewards points.
Do not reply to this post to do a quest. Just thread out the quest and turn it in as instructed on the Rewards Points (Elphame Traders) page when you are ready to redeem. Threads must be started in the month that the quest was announced, though it may start at any day during the month and you may backtag as necessary. Feel free to reply to this post with questions about Top Tasks.
CONTENT WARNINGS:
🐘 June Top Tasks 🌄
KNIGHT QUEST: This quest is available IC only to characters with the Knight title. Knights can invite anyone to complete the quest with them. There have been reports of carnivorous vines invading smaller villages near Camelot's borders. The villages have since been evacuated but there seem to be several people missing. The mission is to find the mother plant and destroy it before it can spread any further. Be careful not the get caught by the vines and risk getting eaten or at least badly injured. After the mother plant has been dealt with, be sure to also destroy the remaining vines that can still cause damage after being severed from the mother plant.

🐘 June Top Tasks 🌄

A Shocking Development
Tis the season for the rare and elusive eleagle of the Ash Mountains to nest and lay eggs. These fierce predators are highly territorial and extinct in their original world. Their eight-foot wingspan and sharp claws are not their most threatening feature, as they have the magical ability to generate and hold electricity in their wings, which they can then beat out as if it were a sonic boom at perceived threats and prey. Their eggs are translucent, as if they were made of glass, so you can see the animal developing within them-- but none have ever managed to do so for more than a glimpse. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to plant a nest-cam in or near one of these birds nests so we may study the Eleagle closely!

Elephaint
Low-key I was supposed to be guarding this Lord's treasure room or whatever and I think I got poulticed and a thief got away with an item that I didn't think was hella valuable but it turns out it hella be. A horn shaped like an elephant head with a huge yellow sapphire on its forehead was stolen and when blown, it causes everyone who hears it to faint except the blower. Mega yikes for a thief to have it, they'd disable everyone in the room! The only clue I have about who the thief is is their signature hole cut out of the bottom of the door-- "The Doormouse!" Find a way to block your ears and get it back.

Uncommon Sense
A cave near the former Celliwig has become home to a terrible creature that has been capturing travelers and eating them. The trick is that when entering its cave, the atmosphere is full of a compound produced by its breath that causes audio-visual hallucinations to control all who enter. Because the hallucinations are in your head, we have a solution: Cast (Spell) Turvysion on yourself, which will turn your eyesight upside-down. The hallucinations will remain right-side up. You just have to defeat the creature... while feeling like you're the upside down one! Good luck!

Malouscious Intent
While everyone was in the Bermuda Station, I managed to harvest some psychoactive mold from the Malous's buildings. While it doesn't bother them, I've heard it can have some wild effects when consumed. I need questers to sneak it into a friend's meal and report back on the effects! If it seems like a good time, sprinkle the rest around Camelot so it starts growing here and report the location so I can keep an eye on it! (Note: This is an invasive species and could take over a building in less than a day, so any stray pieces will cause huge problems!)

UnFamiliar Magic
We all know that familiars are helpful little sidekicks whose bond helps you stay in Avalon while the rest of the universe is frozen. But did you know you can corrupt your familiar through your bond? Shungite absorbs negative energy, which can help you to feel better and have more positive experiences. However, after some time gathering negative energy or a high-absorption event (traumatic experience) it will turn into a stone possessed with negative energy. You can do it over time, but if you want to see results quickly, have it on you while causing someone some form of trauma- the type is up to you. It will absorb some of their negative energy, then if you sleep with that negativity-filled shungite over your heart for a week straight, your familiar will become stronger than you could ever imagine and massively violent toward anyone but you and those you care for. We need this situation solved, so the increased power should get you ready for the days ahead. (OOC note: doing this will also magically lower one's morality, making them more willing to commit acts of evil.)

FUCK!!!!!
FUCK I'M SICK OF ALL OF THIS SHIT, CAN SOMEONE JUST!!!! AHHH I WANNA HEAR SOME SCREAMS! Just fucking kidnap someone and fuck them up! You give me a video of them screaming in pain and I'll give you 10,000,000G! HAHAHA! DELICIOUS DELICIOUS SCREAMS!
