OMG really... ah well, at least they can probably make more use of it in DLCs or future games set in the same world! Sadly Hijikata is really going to mostly miss out on the neat elemental powers and amplifications since he'll channel all his energy into his dubious creations. I think Emet will facepalm if he finds out (or just be glad he didn't cause any serious damage).
