Important Announcements for July

• This month’s weather starts off partly cloudy with showers during the nighttime and morning, then starts heating up to a very nice, warm summer for Camelot through Celliwig and the White Cliffs. The Land of Rot seems to be a good ten degrees hotter for those who are visiting with very little moisture in the air, and a series of summer storms has hit the Ash Mountains.

• The mossatees give birth in July! All along the beaches, there are silly baby mossatees flopping onto shore. If they get too far, please roll them back into the water so they do not dry out. Note that they will leave a trail of beach sand verbena behind them all the way back to the water. Helping one of the babies will result in one of the parent mossatees casting a spell the mossatees (sometimes called museatees for this very reason) are unique for being able to cast: Inspirioss! This spell can clear writer/artist/musician/other creative block. No wonder summer is the time to get inspired. Side effects include sprouting a verbena from the top of your head. (Don't worry, it's painless to pluck.)

  • Animal mages are capable of learning the recipe for Inspirioss if they 1. Learn how to transform into a mossatee and 2. Help at least 10 babies back to the water to prove themselves to the mossatees. Once gained, they may share it with friends.
    
    

NEW Housekeeping Updates:

• Rewards Page is revamped:

  • New page URL is: https://avalonmods.dreamwidth.org/11992.html

    • You do not need to resubmit June’s requests using the new page. We will begin using this URL on July 1st.

  • Instructions are now at the top, clearer and reorganized.

  • The points explanation was moved to the quest section on the FAQhere

  • Players now have their own threads for their rewards tracking, which will allow both players and mods to more easily reference all submitted threads.

  • Clarification for Potions replication/sharing via Rewards:

    • “Potions purchased can be used to count toward the minimum brewers amount (10 potions unless you are an alchemist) and can be replicated after purchase only by the alchemist class.”

• Bestiary format updated to be the same spreadsheet style as glossary & potions.

  • Improves consistency of formatting.

  • Easier updating for mods, which means we should be able to keep it updated more quickly for general reference and bargaining mages.

• Celliwig is now an openly available location for characters to visit.

  • Full entry added to the Locations page.

  • Celliwig Totem Recipe can be purchased from the Elphame Traders/Rewards Points.

• Application Sample Questions have been put into a plain text list available on the Apply page for anyone who is using mobile to apply and having trouble viewing the full length of the question.

Monthly Updates Summary:

• Tested a variety of key points formats in order to determine the way most people benefit from them. The poll is running here until 11:59pm PST on June 29th.

Planned Updates (date/order undetermined):

 

• Bestiary content update - There are a bunch of missing creatures still on it because it was such a mess before, so we’ll be working to update it to a more current state over the next couple of weeks. Apologies for getting behind on this!

• Divide glossary by item type to make shorter lists/easier to find things
